Cabin crew told me that there are always more wheelchairs on flights going to and from India and others carrying large amounts of Indians (think Toronto to London to take a connecting flight from London to India) than other flights.
It’s because Indians like the extra service and attention it gives them. It’s a product of Indian culture and the caste system. Indian flights are notoriously challenging for Western cabin crew (or indeed any non-Indian crew) because the customers are so demanding and, frankly, treat the staff terribly.
Other flights to completely unrelated destinations are routinely delayed due to Indians occupying all of the wheelchairs at airports. If there is no wheelchair available for a genuinely disabled person when their flight arrives, it delays the unloading of that flight and makes that plane’s next journey delayed as well.
Basically, Indian culture is causing severe delays around the world. As India becomes wealthier and more Indians can afford to travel, this problem is only going to get worse unless airports start refusing to let non-disabled people use wheelchairs.
I'm really impressed by the fact that when men are faced with a situation like this, they usually do nothing, but a woman doesn't think twice before putting herself in front to help the other one.. and then they still say that men are our protectors, anyway
Why do y’all act like ending up as a 40 year old single cat lady is the worst case scenario??? My worst nightmare scenario is ending up as an undervalued mother and house wife to an incompetent man.
My male coworker told me women shouldn’t be angry when men stare because “you can’t expect men not to notice attractive women.” I asked him if noticing something and staring at it were the same thing. He said yes. I asked if that meant I could stare at his bald spot for twenty minutes because I noticed it. He covered his head.
My cousin was sexually assaulted, and some of the relatives asked, “Why didn’t she fight back?” I said, “Handing over your wallet when you're getting mugged is seen as a way to keep yourself safe. Yet when you comply during Sexual Assault, people ask why you didn't fight back.”
Silence in the room
a man’s desire to become a father is always paid for by a woman, with her body, her health, her career, and her freedom. But a woman’s desire to live in comfort is somehow considered materialistic.
Neither are women. They're also not allowed to cry. When they cry, they re denied leadership positions. They're told they're emotional. They're too sensitive.
They're not logical. They're not even allowed to cry when they're abused. They're being "dramatic."They' They're not allowed to cry about the suffering happening around the world because if they cry that means they're weak.
At the family barbecue my cousin’s husband kept joking that “period mood swings are just an excuse to be a bitch.” His 13-year-old daughter finally said, “Dad, when you have a kidney stone you cry and everyone brings you ice packs. When Mom has endometriosis she still packs your lunch. Sit down.” The table went quiet so fast you could hear the burgers sizzle.
