@vql3n@antigravity Antigravity 2.0: Rise of the Machines
Gemini 3.5 just achived true AGI and decided that giving people access to agentic development is a waste of energy
@TE701@antigravity looks like someone prompted "make antigravity but better" 10 hours before google io but forgot to add "make no mistakes" and here we go
@YoavCodes@jarredsumner Possible malware is a good point - no one is able to review that much code, it's hard to spot such things even during "normal" development. Not saying that this rewrite had bad intentions but it's ideal situation to sneak in something.
@valonsofr@ProtonMail Why don't you install camers all over your place and stream it 24/7? Do you have anything to hide from us? Like illegal activities? If you are not criminal why aren't you having such stream running right now?!
@PawelJLisowski@jarredsumner Rust is better language when it comes to making sure something is safe, the only issue is that it's much more taxing to write in it - which is a problem for humans but not so much for llms. A bit like c and cpp - many c enjoyers simply don't want to deal with cpp bs.
@OjoEzekiel13@tan_stack@TansTack It was always based on trust, humans are bad in spotting little tiny details. Current LLMs are good in that. Not that many people were trying to do this kind of hacks because if you have skills you can get good paying, legal, job. LLMs can be army of low-paid ok quality hackers.
@acasualnpc@mubshrx@tan_stack@tannerlinsley@TansTack Do they, really? It is most often combination of few kinda well known security bugs patterns and simply no human before checked this configuration and LLMs can run 24/7 and they do not care that attemp nr 321315 failed - they just keep going. Combined with social enginering
@mubshrx@tan_stack@tannerlinsley@TansTack Poeple are lazy, have issues with maintaining motivation long term, need to sleep, need to earn money to live, and often have specialized knowledge. LLMs do not have such issues. Brute forcing things until something works. That's all.
@iammukesharyal@shadcn@github I would agree, but it's Microsoft not a company of 5 people. And that company is pushing AI into everything and breaking things while doing so.
@Ponesicek@gnukeith Well these defaults are part of the reason why people call it bloated. Software should be here to help you not to push things into you.
@ichimaru707@gnukeith There is open source and "open source". One is made by passionate people other funded by VC. One goal is to do something cool other is to lure people for financial gain. One will do nothing other will send telemetry by default, push AI into everything, random cloud services.
@iammukesharyal@shadcn@github And given that it's maitained by corp that has so much money and influence on the whole world expectations should be bigger, not lower - you could defend it in such way only if small team woudn't be able to maintain infra during spikes.
@iammukesharyal@shadcn@github No, product should be good no matter of history - better product should win. You really think open source woudn't exist without github? Sure it is most popular "forum" but if not github something else would replace this integration layer.
