@AltFactsUK1@benonwine That stuff was embarrassing, but I felt it was so clearly _not_ him that it didn't really seem to stick. But I'm not the electorate, and I've no feeling for how damaging it was in the eyes of other people.
@benonwine Not necessarily the greatest, but if he'd retained his seat and become leader of his party (not implausible), I think Chris Patten would have been a better David Cameron than David Cameron.
@AltFactsUK1@benonwine He did as well as anyone could have done against a pre-Iraq Blair with an economic tailwind. I'm not a Conservative supporter, but I'd have put him in a Fantasy Football-type government without hesitation.
@dufitalexis1 I remember a data analysis question from one of my 1983 A-level biology papers. We had to plot data on species per square metre obtained across two fields and spot and comment on the big spike in the numbers when the cross section passed through the hedge. The jump was striking.
@Jondelinde@PaulEmbery Territories - of course - can't be bought by blood. Russia isn't entitled to a piece of Ukraine by having thrown a lot of lives away there, for example.
The only thing that matters in questions of sovereignty of a region is what the people who live there want.
Best regards
@Jondelinde@PaulEmbery Hi. Support for the current governmental arrangements in the Falklands among the people who live there is overwhelming. That's all that matters. If they wanted to join with Argentina in some way, the only decent thing to do would be to make this happen.
@FunkadelicHorse@tc810216186431@DalgetySusan I don't want any of them.
The word 'doggerel' needs to come back into wider circulation, because a ton of it's being generated as a folksy counterfeit for real poetry.
@pgmrmr@simonmaechling Hi. In the Huntington's study the intervention blocks the formation of a toxic protein. No toxic protein has been identified in ALS, as far as I know, so the approach couldn't be adapted directly- but I think it's v. likely that other gene therapies will be tried in the future.
@KemiBadenoch 'I was never big on book-larnin', but I got shit-tons more horse sense than them 'experts' who mostly don't know what day it is. Ya know what I think?' (etc.)
@MotherMRuss This is awful, and outrageous. My recognition that you've had a monstrously unjust experience doesn't help you, and nor do my good wishes - but you have them.
Best regards
@Wilket@DrNeilStone To the fans, he's a matchless off-the-cuff speaker - funny, better able to see what's really going on than the 'experts', and terrific at communicating complex information in simple language. And of course, he Calls It As He Sees It.
God help us.
