If you look at your high street these days and think “who asked for this?”, you’re not alone.
I’m doing something about it. We’re giving local people and councils more control over what opens, and tougher powers to crack down on businesses that aren’t good for our communities.
For too long, Westminster has stood by while our high streets declined.
Greggs remains unaffected.
@StevenJonMiller It's a little more nuanced than that. Prioritising Britain/British is not racist. Achieving that by being a racist is racist. Let me know if you have any questions
@OxfordBuckeye@Heccles94 > That's an argument for improving access to choice, not abolishing the alternative. By that logic, we should get rid of private healthcare because not everyone can afford it. The existence of unequal access doesn't make competition itself bogus.
You’re mixing up immigration with diversity. Nigeria, India and Pakistan are massively diverse — ethnically and linguistically — it’s just largely indigenous diversity rather than the result of recent immigration. You can make the argument against mass immigration, but saying there’s “no diversity” in India is just factually ridiculous.
