We're Nottingham Women for Change. A DIY collective with a focus on working class women and our families in Nottingham. All women welcome to join & support.
We very rarely use twitter - most of the local women who attend our events don't use this platform so please do follow us on Facebook where we update more frequently!

@Bizzybe26346962 @gideonmack@AHFdoco Bizzy you don't owe this man your time.
Dylan this tweet is not from Siân. But the thread was from Siân. The whole collective support her analysis that you're a raging misogynist. Have a nice day.
Dylan supports the sex trade. When it was explained to him why women not directly selling sex can be negatively impacting by the trade he, without a moment of self reflection, said "I live in the red light district & I've never had any issues". None so blind as privileged males.
After the weekend I was told to watch @AHFdoco I have. My favourite part is when @simonjedge threatens 'a reckoning' against @OwenJones84 and @IndiaWilloughby
TLDR it's TERF Twitter the film. Bad faith arguments, bad memes, terrible audio mixing, aimed at the already radicalised
Your reminder, an active case about a Met officer accused of raping a women is absolutely nowhere to be seen on the news agenda:
‘Met officer aggressive before roadside rape, court hears’ https://t.co/xkrWsobZrZ
Keep speaking. Keep meeting. Keep organising. #RealityMatters and #WomensRightsAreHumanRights
The reason men and transgender identified males are pushing the aggressive silencing of women (and transsexuals who support women) is because they know our arguments are sound.
You're going to see a lot of men like this over the next few days. Attacking the makers of @AHFdoco, the participants, @Womans_Place_UK & of course @NottsW4C too.
The "we hate TERFs" men benefit from the silencing of women. On the sex trade. On surrogacy. On single sex spaces.
Ace #RadicalReaders meeting last night to discuss #WellReadBlackGirl a fab book!
Next meet up is #SlowReading group - we're working through Dworkin's #RightWingWomen & 7/12/22 we're discussing chapter 3 #Abortion
This is a women only discussion group. https://t.co/MGwdUgzfr6
Consistently we have & will continue to extend invitations for dialogue. Hosting the film screening & allowing space for questions was an attempt at dialogue. We also do so much behind the scenes on this away from the heat of twitter. Full statement will be made. Be patient.
We are not suing a church.
We @NottsW4C were responsible for the room booking. We suffered inconvenience & distress. However we understand it was hard for our friends at Sherwood Methodist Church when presented with the lie that we were hosting a hate film.
We can say it's difficult to engage with a political opponent who lies as easily as breathing. Feminism is political. As is the anti-feminist mens rights movement.
The abusive tactic of DARVO is familiar to many in our collective as we know & understand male violence intimately.
Our collective next meet on December 7th so we won't be making any statements in response to this now. We have other sessions planned for women over the coming weeks and a busy 2023!

This is your "It's TOMORROW!" warning for book club. Pick it up, grab a cuppa, take some time for yourself & read. Women only meeting, we welcome all women every month even if they can't finish the book. But it's a great one! Aim to read the first essay "Magic Mirrors" though.
Last Wednesday of the month our #WomenOnly book group #RadicalReaders meet. November 30th we'll be discussing "Well-Read Black Girl" anthology edited by Glory Edim
Online 6pm, new women welcome.

We're at another screening of @AHFdoco tonight. Majority of our organising group & some new women too. This one has wine & cheese, crisps & biscuits and no petulant tantrums in the car park.
Women are going to keep meeting & sharing this film. Get over it. #RealityMatters

All ticket holders who requested a link to view the film before general release have now been emailed one.
If you were at our talk yesterday & would like a link do email or DM.
Everyone else - it's available for free from: https://t.co/dgq1UtPQFv
from Thursday 1st, 5.00pm.
Thank you to all who attended our event today. Due to vexatious complaints from people who have NOT EVEN seen @AHFdoco our venue felt obliged to decline us permission to screen it for fear of offending those protesting in their car park. However we met, we talked, we resisted.
Please follow @AHFdoco for information on where to view the film when it drops for the wider public on December 1st at 5pm. Please use their hashtag #RealityMatters to discuss the censorship, the threats, the intimidation and the RESISTANCE as well as their brilliant film.
Solidarity with Nottingham Women for Change, @AHFdoco & speaker Julie Bindel @bindelj.
We were proud to host the Premiere Screening & urge everyone to sign up for the online screening on Dec 1st.
