JUST IN: New poll finds voters initially favor banning new data centers by 20 points, but flip to supporting them when projects cover grid & water costs or generate local tax revenue.
@acoyne It's normalized because when they are the largest parties with the most votes that's sorta the definition of normal. And why do you think +40% of voters choosing them, Andrew?
@SuzyQue64568715@TristinHopper@pammustard We had the same type of mayor until recently. Demographics is destiny. If you have many ghouls in the population, expect ghoulish policy from politicians.
@AdamZivo From the perspective of albertans whose votes have only mattered in one election in the last 3 decades, it's essentially taxation without representation.
@DeleteLawz2024@GVinning The cost per person averaged of healthcare spending is 10k per person. As you get older that increases. These 2 cost taxpayers over 30k (??) per year, from a system they never contributed to. And there are millions.
@NightShiftMD Then do a scientifically rigorous inquiry. All (??) science comes from trying to explain anecdotes or theories. We have the anecdotes, so now go explain them. This hasn't been done, intentionally, equally for political purposes.
