INB100’s Response to SM Entertainment’s Official Statement
SM’s Statement 1)
“What we (SM) demanded from the three members (CBX) was only one thing, which is to pay 10% of their individual activity revenue, as stipulated in the existing agreement dated June 18, 2023. However, this has not yet been carried out.”
→ CBX’s Response:
CBX’s intention to pay 10% of their individual activity revenue remains unchanged. Since a lawsuit is currently in progress, they plan to fulfill this obligation once an agreement is reached and the legal procedures are concluded.
SM’s Statement 2)
“Regarding participation in group activities, the excessive number of disputes has significantly damaged the trust between both parties, as well as caused harm to EXO as a team and emotional pain to its members and fans. Therefore, it was only natural that the three members’ sincere efforts to fulfill the existing agreement and restore trust should come first.”
→ CBX’s Response:
All discussions have been conducted on the premise of EXO’s full-group activities.
CBX has clearly expressed their intention to carry out the existing agreement, has been directly communicating with the members, and has been making efforts to participate as part of the team.
SM’s Statement 3)
“Contrary to their claim that they accepted all of SM’s conditions and clearly expressed their intent to agree after the second mediation session on October 2, the three members actually filed an objection on the 16th.”
→ CBX’s Response:
Around the court’s mediation date, CBX communicated to SM their intention to pay the 10% of individual activity revenue and were awaiting SM’s final response.
However, the amount proposed by the court’s mediation committee on October 2 was an arbitrarily calculated figure unrelated to either party’s agreement.
Both sides stated at the mediation session itself that they could not accept that figure.
When the written notice of that proposed amount was later delivered, both sides simultaneously filed objections on October 16.
This was merely a standard procedural action, and the claim that CBX had no intention of reaching an agreement is not true.
We sincerely apologize to fans who have felt confusion or concern during the ongoing legal process with SM Entertainment.
CBX will faithfully fulfill the existing agreement and will do their utmost to restore trust with the members and reach an amicable understanding with SM.
Thank you.
