AI art tools took off because many activist artists abused a monopoly.

Clients waited weeks or months, then got canceled for “wrongthink,” or were charged half-pay for unfinished work. Price and “soul of the art” were secondary; the problem was the artist’s inability to put opinions/politics aside for work, and if its a hobby then don't bother other's hobby.

Leaflit is a poor target. She has paid high rates, spent $50k on art in a year, commissioned a One Piece artist and Japanese musicians, and even prepaid struggling artists with open briefs.

Blame the commissioners who spent decades turning clients away for their opinions—not her, and not people using AI.

Good artists will still get work. Activists will keep working only inside a shrinking bubble.

TLDR: AI art took off because too many activist artists canceled clients for “wrongthink” or half-charged after long delays. Politics came before the job.
