In 2020, the world shut down because people feared hospital overload.

In 2026 with hantavirus, people will simply refuse to go to work.

If mortality among the working class (ports, factories, logistics) becomes widespread,
Global trade will simply stop.

This is not inflation. This is the physical absence of goods.

There are no approved vaccines against hantavirus with proven effectiveness.

The mRNA technologies that saved the world from COVID may not work as quickly against this type of virus.

🚨 CRUCIAL POLYMARKET UPDATE
(for developers and trading bot owners)
Polymarket drops a major technical upgrade on April 28 at 11:00 UTC.
If you run a bot on Polymarket this is the most important post you'll read this week.
Missing this will break your entire setup.
Here is everything changing and why it matters: USDC.e is getting replaced completely.
New collateral token is called pUSD - Polymarket USD. 1:1 backed by USDC so the value doesn't change. But every bot handling collateral logic needs to be updated to recognize the new token.
If your bot is hardcoded to look for USDC.e deposits or balances, it will break on April 28. New Exchange contracts and a fully rewritten CLOB backend. This is the big one for bot developers.
The entire order matching infrastructure is being replaced. Any bot connecting to the old contracts will stop working the moment the cutover happens. Update to clob-client-v2 now.
Not after the upgrade. Now. All open limit orders will be canceled during the cutover. Every standing order on the book gets wiped during the ~1 hour downtime window. If your bot has active positions or standing bids placed before 11:00 UTC - they disappear. Build logic to handle this or you will wake up to empty positions and confused state management.
Builder fees are now enabled. New revenue stream for anyone building on top of Polymarket infrastructure. Worth understanding if you are planning to monetize a product built on the platform. The bigger picture here is this upgrade is a direct step toward $POLY fee migration and L2 POLY.
Every major technical change from now points in that direction. For bot developers: Update your client, rebuild your collateral logic and clear your order state before April 22. You have been warned.
