@BorisJohnson I see you have a drink in your hand while standing. I also see someone in the background serving canapes! Both of which are BANNED at weddings!
Did you know we have to eat and drink while sitting at a table at weddings?? How is this fair!?#whataboutweddings
Earlier this week Prime Minister @BorisJohnson hosted NHS workers in the Downing Street garden to thank them for all they have been doing on the frontline throughout the pandemic.
I understand why crowds at football matches are back, it’s morale boosting! But not everyone likes football! You know what would be another big morale boost... allowing people to get married how they want to!! Stop these unfair restrictions on weddings now! #whataboutweddings
Still no guidance... wow!
I wouldn't even be able to organise, plan, bake and decorate a wedding cake in 5 days, let alone plan an entire wedding!! #whataboutweddings

My letter to the Prime Minister about weddings. Couples and events businesses need decisions, parity with other events (or the reason why).
There is time to put this right.

'We fail to see why weddings have to be so unfairly penalised over and over again, while the beer garden in the local pub is full of strangers'

An interviewer who gets #weddings and our businesses are not frivolous parties... Maybe when @GOVUK work out that 400k workers + 1.6m brides & grooms waiting to tie the knot over the next 24 months + their families all have votes, they might take another look? But then again...
Once again, the wedding industry has been overlooked and no clear guidance!!! Venues can hold events with social distanced capacity (for instance 1-10K) but weddings STILL only 30?!? Makes no sense at all!! #whataboutweddings
@jasonleitch@NicolaSturgeon IF THIS 👇 can happen for #football for which 1000s of people will attend / sing/ hug the SURELY guidance & allowances for #weddings SHOULD get fairer treatment. The industry has been either closed/heavily restricted for 14 months. #whataboutweddings
Thanks to everyone who contributed to this including @BCWedConsultant and @UKAWP alongside couples and @WAWofficialUK

“Beyond a joke” indeed. 😐

@louiseguinelly Grandparents who are in their 90s and we risk them not being there is we postpone a year.
Not to mention the countless wedding buisnesses who would cease to exist if everyone postponed to 2022 (unfortunately they don't have a money tree or sufficient help from the govenment).
@scullyp This should have read ‘Further details on receptions at this step will be updated at the eleventh hour because we dont care enough’. At least then we would have known where we stand... #whataboutweddings
I just don’t get it! 30 people can gather outside and be able to hug on the 17th... but a planned wedding event is still 30. Makes sense! I‘m half expecting hugging to be banned at weddings but allowed everywhere else. I wouldn’t put it past this government #whataboutweddings
May 17th I can...
-Hug my friends and family again
- Purchase and consume food & alcohol indoors
- Enjoy indoor entertainment
- Go on holiday afterwards
...so I can have all the individual elements of a wedding with no numbers cap, but not an actual wedding #whataboutweddings
@sarabolton26 100% this! I and many other couples are in exactly the same position. Trolls out there that tell us there’s a pandemic and we should postpone can sod off with their opinions. I wish it was that easy to postpone. All we want is the guidance in a timely manner! #whataboutweddings
🗞️Couples waiting to marry at the end of May are still waiting for news about how their days will pan out under step 3 of the roadmap.

@BorisJohnson@scullyp WAKE UP! step 3 is in 12 days and your delay in releasing guidance is cruel to buisnesses and couples holding out for a small wedding #whataboutweddings
Can I be walked down the aisle?
Two households per table?
Confetti?
Dancing?
Who the f... knows!!! 🤷♀️
