Animals are living creatures that experience fear & pain. Leaving them to suffer & die alone in a storm is inhumane. People evacuate with both their children & pets every year. If you can’t take your pets with you, either leave them with someone else or please do not have pets.
Please take your animals with you when evacuating for #HurricaneMichael. Don’t make them ride out this powerful Cat 4 storm afraid and alone.

“No one ever told me that grief felt so like fear.”—C.S. Lewis
Everyone will experience losing someone they love at some point in their life. You don’t have to deal with it alone—please reach out to family, friends, or a grief counselor.💚

I am forever chained
To the time you left;
One clock started
When the other stopped.
But I am not chained
To him, to this.
It’s time to take your memories
And leave this place.
I’ve found some losses bind us,
While others set us free.

I finally washed one of your blankets. I knew it was time. I briefly felt as if I was washing pieces of you away, but I pushed the feeling aside and did it anyway.
The blanket is so soft now and smells so clean. You would’ve loved it.

It is late and cold and in seven hours and forty minutes, you will have been gone one year. There are still no words for what I feel except the ones I say every day and will say every day for the rest of my life: I miss you.

@RealisticPoetry Stop. Take a step back.
Read what you've written as objectively as possible.
If it doesn't touch you, it probably won't touch anyone else.
I never cease to be amazed how this can change during the day. One minute I'm okay, the next I feel as if I'm being crushed. #grief#loss https://t.co/e04doJ2QwX
@refugeingrief At 6 months, my grief is an uneven weight in my soul. Some days I can carry it; others, it's so heavy I can barely breathe, let alone move.
