North Alabama's Canin Jefferson (@j_canin) will enter the transfer portal, his agent @Dillon_Buchanan of AMR Agency told @TheFieldOf68.

The 6-2 junior guard averaged 12.4 points and 2.6 assists in 2025-26. Has spent all three seasons of his career with the Lions.

Another legendary mid-major comes in next at No. 72 in the Wyoming Cowboys!

Wyoming has made 16 NCAA Tournaments and made history as one of the first teams to win it all in 1943. They actually went dancing eight times from 1941 to 1958. Head coach Everett Shelton went 328-201 at the helm during this stretch. Before him, Wyoming was building something as pre-tournament national champs in 1934.

Since that era, the Cowboys have kept things competitive, with their other eight tourney bids just more spread out - the last coming in 2022. They’ve also produced players like Larry Nance Jr. and Theo Ratliff.

You can say what you want but the Cowboys have one thing most programs don’t - and that is a National Championship!

Asked Smiley about playing against Josh Adam's team in the state semifinals this afternoon. His response:

“Going into playing this game against Lutheran, I heard that their head coach played at Wyoming. I looked up some highlights of him on YouTube, and I was like, ‘Woah. He was nice. He was tough with it. I didn’t realize he was that good.’

"We had a brief conversation after the game and he said, ‘I can’t wait to watch you (at Wyoming).’”

I had a HS teacher in the mid 90’s who laid it out for us (his career advice was to be a lawyer focused on water rights because the fights would go on forever). Everyone has known this issue for decades but nothing has been done.

@MavsRealist It’s partially because of the Rangers and Cowboys. DFW already had 2/4 major sports basically located in a giant parking lot and now we will see the same for NBA. Most metros have figured out that MLB/NBA/NHL works best in central core (NFL different since only 8-9 games).
