Russians killed Veronika during last night’s shelling of Kyiv. One of her sons lost a leg and spent hours trapped in a shelter with his leg torn apart before he could be rescued.
The fate of her other son is still unknown. It is also unknown what happened to Veronika’s mother, the boys’ grandmother.
Last night, Kyiv. 💔
Missiles and drones rained down on civilian neighbourhoods, on homes where families were sleeping, where children should have felt safe. In the darkness, the city was filled with explosions as deadly weapons struck from above at terrifying speed, leaving little or no time to reach shelter.
This is the reality millions of Ukrainians continue to face: nights filled with sirens and fear, homes reduced to rubble, lives lost, and countless others forever scarred by russia's brutal attacks.

This is not a movie about meteor showers before the apocalypse; this is Russia bombing Kyiv last night. A city with several million people in it - children, the elderly, and normal families just like yours.
Smoke rose over Kyiv at dawn after another night of brutal attacks. Beneath the darkened sky, sirens, explosions, and fear swept through the city - a stark reminder of the terror and horror russia continues to inflict on Ukraine.
Never forget.
Never forgive.

Horrific moment of a direct russian drone strike on an apartment building in Dnipro last night‼️
At least 12 people were killed, including 2 children.
More than 500 personnel of the State Emergency Service have been involved in dealing with the aftermath of Russia’s overnight attack on our cities and communities. The main strike was on Kyiv, where dozens of residential buildings and other purely civilian infrastructure were damaged again. Tragically, four people have been reported killed. My condolences to all their families and loved ones. At this moment, 38 people are in hospitals in the capital, and all of them are receiving the necessary care.
In Dnipro, a search and rescue operation is ongoing at the site of a four-story apartment building. Part of the building was essentially demolished. Nine people were killed in this attack, including a child. Thirty-five people were injured in the city. The fate of six more people remains unknown. The search for them will continue for as long as necessary.
The Russians also struck energy facilities in the Kharkiv region and critical infrastructure in Kharkiv. Kyiv, Mykolaiv, Zaporizhzhia, Poltava, Sumy, Chernihiv, and Khmelnytskyi regions also came under attack.
In total, overnight Russia launched 656 attack drones and 73 missiles of various types at our people – ballistic, cruise, and anti-ship missiles. A large-scale attack and an absolutely clear statement from Russia: if Ukraine is not protected from ballistic and other missile strikes, these attacks will continue. Europe needs its own anti-ballistic defense so that this war can finally be brought to an end. And assistance from the United States in supplying missiles for Patriot systems is absolutely necessary. We are counting on the support of our partners and on effective responses to today’s attack.
And I thank all Ukrainian men and women for not ignoring air raid alerts.
Glory to Ukraine!
A Russian missile strike on residential buildings in Dnipro killed at least eight civilians.
A three-year-old child was among the dead.
Putin calls this "denazification."
...another morning in Ukraine, and once again, it is neither peaceful nor bright. Once again, we wake up exhausted, learning the names of the Ukrainians who were killed. What else is left for us, the civilians of this country, but to hide at night when cities face mass attacks… In Kyiv, during air raid alerts, crowds of people, along with their children and pets-seek refuge in metro stations that serve as bomb shelters. But in other cities like mine, you simply stay in your apartment, hoping for the best.
Some people underground are watching the events above ground through their phones, others are seeing the destruction from their windows. But morning has finally arrived, and it's impossible not to be grateful for it-it's just heartbreaking that this morning hasn't arrived for everyone. Is there any point in repeating "fucking russia" for the millionth time, does it even make any sense anymore...
🚨 BREAKING: The death toll in Kyiv has risen to 4 with 58 wounded after a massive Russian overnight missile and drone attack, local authorities report.
🚨 BREAKING: Russia kills first responder in double-tap strike on Dnipro.
A Russian secondary strike targeting rescue operations in Dnipro killed a State Emergency Service worker today while damaging residential buildings and a fire station, as search efforts continue for survivors potentially trapped beneath the rubble.
Yet another night of attacks on civilians in Odesa and other regions 🤬
🚘🙏 The interceptor units of the 122nd Brigade need vans to move quickly, track incoming Shahed drones, and stop them before they strike.

Today, I presented state awards of Ukraine to the people without whom Operation “Spiderweb” would not have happened. We have no right to name them – everything remains absolutely classified and will remain so for a long time. This is already a historic operation by the Security Service of Ukraine, one that was carefully prepared, and on this very day one year ago, it entered its final stage – striking Russian military equipment. Farther than Ukrainian long-range capabilities had ever reached before. As precisely as no one in Russia expected. And as justly as the enemy’s strategic aviation deserves.
“Spiderweb” destroyed or at least damaged 41 aircraft. Never before had Russia lost such equipment, in such numbers, and as a result of strikes by drones that were incomparably cheaper. Ukraine has once again proved that it knows how to act asymmetrically, that it defends itself actively and truly creatively, and that Russia has no chance of overcoming Ukrainian courage. Ukraine will always be one step ahead – in technology, in bravery, and in the ability to capture the world’s attention and rally the support of millions of human hearts.
Ukraine is now applying long-range sanctions against Russia for this war literally every day. We did not start this war, we did not provoke it, and the only thing we wanted for Ukraine and Ukrainians was peace. But as long as the Russians choose the opposite, and as long as Russia does everything to drag out this war and expand it, Ukrainians will continue to find responses that will definitely work. I thank all our warriors for their precision! I thank the Security Service of Ukraine for its long-range leadership! I thank everyone who helps us! Glory to Ukraine!
