Sharing stories of hope, optimism, leadership. It’s what North Carolina is capable of, what we’ve been fighting for, and what our communities need most. Now.
"Our journey home: Now."
We're going home to the forward-looking NC we know: a beacon in the South, leader in the nation. NC voters reclaim mantle of Govs Martin & Hunt to: Break the Supermajority, Sustain Gubernatorial Vetoes, & Restore our State.
Now.

I am deeply humbled and incredibly grateful to the voters of Senate District 18 for their trust and confidence in me. It is an honor to have earned your support, and I look forward to continuing to serve the people of NC - just in a new office... maybe not in the basement. #ncpol
With results certified, Democrats officially break NC GOP’s supermajority — by one seat. State Board of Elections certified Bryan Cohn’s 228-vote win over Rep. Frank Sossamon after dismissing GOP challenges. (Via @kyle_ingram11) #ncpol#ncga https://t.co/WmMPC7W3YI
In my former high school, on my great-grandfather’s Bible, I took the oath to serve the people.
It is an honor to be your North Carolina Representative for District 24. Thank you, Wilson and Nash counties.
It's hard to end the year without at least celebrating the life of an American Saint in President Jimmy Carter.
I first remember Carter because his sister got married in Fayetteville, and he visited my hometown when he was President.
Later, I was fortunate to spend a decent amount of time with him and Rosalynn Carter through their grandson Jason. I remember President Carter sharing his daily routine with me - eating breakfast, reading the digital version of The New York Times, reading the Plains paper, writing for a couple of hours, then painting, lunch, and then focusing on the work of the Carter Center. It was a remarkable daily routine. Rosalynn drank red wine while sharing the story of how they eradicated guinea worms in Africa and Asia, saving millions of lives.
I feel confident I'll never live to see another president who embraced both humility and humanity.
And, who continues to inspire me in pubic life.
That's great inspiration going into the new year.
Rest In Peace Mr. President.
p.s. If you haven't had the chance, watch the Rock & Roll President documentary that features the outsized role the Allman Brothers played in electing Carter president.
The 39th President of the United States, President James Earl Carter, Jr., passed away yesterday at the age of 100.
He was a Navy Veteran, Nobel laureate, and a humanitarian who dedicated his life to the service of our nation and the betterment of its people.
Semper Fidelis.
The Secret Service offers heartfelt condolences on the passing of former President Jimmy Carter. His commitment to peace, human rights and service touched countless lives, leaving a legacy of integrity and grace. It was an honor to protect him and his family.
We are saddened to learn of the passing of our President Jimmy Carter, a Great Georgian, statesman, leader, man, & friend of the Allman Brothers Band. We were proud of our small contribution to his success and what Jimmy Carter accomplished in his lifetime. Photo Wally McNamee

For the past 8 years, we’ve worked for a North Carolina where people are healthier and better educated with opportunities for more money in their pockets. Together, we’ve made great progress on that mission & we’ve launched a site showing the highlights. https://t.co/0w1YE25Jov

2024 has been an incredible year. I have learned more about my self and was able to accomplish things I never thought I would be able to.
While the year didn’t end how I wanted it, I am so blessed for all the great friends I have made this year and unforgettable experience that I know have made me grow as a person.
Sometimes life’s biggest failures and disappointments are what is needed to help you reach your true goal. I surely hope that is the case for me.
It’s been a hell of a ride, 2024. I’m so thankful for my family who is always beside me, my friends who were there when I needed you the most, and the new friends I met along the way. Not sure what 2025 has In store, but I’m excited for the opportunity!
Happy New Year, everyone!!!
Thank you for your years of public service, @RoyCooperNC.
Gov. Cooper showed us that it is possible to achieve big things in the South -- without compromising on our core values.
North Carolina benefitted tremendously from his leadership these past eight years.
