They’ve been lying when they say they support immigration “the right way.” This radical policy will target people here LEGALLY, including people married to Americans and parents of U.S. citizen children.
It will separate families for months or even years, devastate communities, and kill jobs.
We have to do everything we can to stop this insanity.
Iranians residing in the U.S. who can't return home safely must be protected—not forcibly removed. Trump’s war and Iran's already dire human rights crisis make it unsafe for Iranians abroad to go home. The Trump admin must shield Iranians in our communities and pause deportations while the war continues.
The USCIS pause is putting Iranian students and workers at risk of losing status and being forced back to Iran—where they could face persecution from the brutal Islamic Republic regime or renewed conflict.
@SenMarkey and I led our colleagues to demand answers and immediate protections for Iranians in the U.S. who cannot safely return home.
As Islamic Republic officials use the internet freely to announce the opening of the Strait of Hormuz, don't forget the 90+ million people in Iran cut off from the internet for 50 days. Access to the internet is a human right. Authorities must immediately restore internet access.
Two doctors serving their communities, saving lives. They came legally. Even under new management, Trump’s DHS is going after good people, not “the worst of the worst."
We hear you. We stand with our trainees and programs.
CORD has released a statement addressing the recent detention of an emergency medicine trainee and its impact on our community. Learn more and stay engaged. Full statememt in our bio. https://t.co/xbW2AgfpEu
🚨TWO Venezuelan doctors… Dr. Ezequiel Veliz and Dr. Rubeliz Bolivar… were detained by ICE agents, in South Texas this month.
So yeah, let’s drop the “worst of the worst” narrative.
The Persian Gulf is not just a name but a historical reality. For thousands of years, Iranians, Arabs, and Westerners have referred to this body of water between Iran and the Arabian Peninsula by its true and only name: the Persian Gulf. The reported decision by President Trump to abrogate history, should it be true, is an affront to the people of Iran and our great civilization.
But, once again, the true culprit of this shameful act is Ali Khamenei and his anti-Iranian regime who have so weakened our nation that foreign powers dare make such transgressions against Iran’s national identity and world history.
The Islamic Republic has caused this national embarrassment so we will not rally around its usurping flag. Instead, let every Iranian of whatever stripe, strain, or ideology, unite once and for all to again raise our true Lion and Sun flag over Iran and the eternal Persian Gulf.
The Persian Gulf is our national inheritance and the defense of its honor and its name is a national responsibility for each of us to bear in any way we can.
Long Live Iran. Long Live the Persian Gulf.
As you continue to expel individuals that should have never been allowed to enter, please know that PhD and MD holding Iranian have lost their jobs due to USCIS pause. Majority of those jobs were open to non-citizens because they were not filled by citizens in the first place.
Last summer, I introduced the Persian Gulf Act after Trump threatened to rename it. Today, Pete Hegseth referred to it as the Arabian Gulf.
The Persian Gulf has been recognized as such by international bodies for centuries. Trump and Hegseth can’t change that now.
The brave Iranian people have risked everything to reclaim their country from the Islamic Republic.
To threaten the destruction of their civilization is not only illegal and inhumane—it empowers the regime, reinforces its propaganda, and betrays a people who have long been America’s natural allies.
Trump woke up this morning threatening genocide against a country of 90 million people.
We should be back in DC RIGHT NOW to stop this deranged madman from blowing up the world. Does this seem urgent to you, @SpeakerJohnson? How can you sleep at night??
This is a threat of genocide and merits removal from office. The President’s mental faculties are collapsing and cannot be trusted.
To every individual in the President’s chain of command: You have a duty to refuse illegal orders. That includes carrying out this threat.
The @USCIS pause on processing applications is jeopardizing the futures of many talented #Iranian students who make valuable contributions to U.S. science and innovation. Please end this pause. @SecRubio
Maryam Mirzakhani, the first woman to win the Fields Medal in mathematics (the Nobel of mathematics), studied at Sharif University of Technology - which was just bombed by US-Israel. No US woman has ever win a Fields medal. The moral descent of USA continues lower and lower.
