Clover Isabella Lepak was born alive on Monday June 29, 2026, at 5:40 PM and was baptized immediately by her father. She died peacefully in our arms several hours later. We are so proud of our little girl. She overcame many challenges and summoned all of her strength to make sure she could meet her big sisters. Their time together was special. Livie was overjoyed to see her and thanked God for that opportunity. Violet loved how tight Clover squeezed her finger. Evie liked how if she tickled Clover’s feet she would react and let out a little noise. She met many other extended family members during her short life. During her last few moments we listened to music, sang, prayed, and told her how happy we were to meet her and hold her. We will make funeral arrangements once we have a clearer picture on Paige’s recovery timeline and let everyone know, but for now we appreciate all the prayers and words of support we’ve received. She was cared for by an amazing team who went above and beyond for our family and we will be forever grateful to them.
Dude, learn some logic!
"Trump made money" does not equal "Republicans are enriching themselves." It's a non-sequitur.
You can't change terms mid-argument. It's deceitful inveigling obfuscation.
Donald Trump made more than $2 billion during his first year as President.
Republicans are enriching themselves while making your life more expensive.
We must crush the culture of corruption.
Yes.
I reject the pejorative "pawns" in your argument, but leaving that aside...
There is no "done" without a "doer."
There is no sin without a sinner.
There is no Savior if there is no sinner.
And if there is no Savior then we are of all men most to be pitied.
Of course you are responsible. Responsibility assumes there is someone to hold you to account, someone with the authority to demand an answer of you.
God is not responsible as there is none to hold him to account; you are responsible because there is God who holds you to account
"Author" is a poor metaphor that the WCF unfortunately used instead of saying "doer."
God is unapologetically the "cause" of everything, including sin.
God is not the "doer" of sin.
God caused this post; He is not its author. It would be better had he been.
Men "author."
Every American should be outraged by what Trump has done to our nation's 250th birthday celebration. What should have been a once-in-a-generation moment to unite the country has been turned into another vehicle for division, propaganda, and political gain.
We uncovered how he hijacked America 250 – watch to see how.
Those are simply statements of fact. God chose the weak (fact) to shame the strong (purpose of the choice). God's choice is not conditioned on him casting about for the weak and finding some; he just chooses it because it's his plan. And he does it to confound the world's wise.
Calvinists: God’s choice is unconditional.
1 Corinthians 1:27–29: “God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong; God chose what is low and despised in the world.”
Those are conditions.
Calvinist: God caused them to meet those conditions by graciously effectual means.
Where does it say that in the Bible?
Leighton, you asked specifically if I could do something God cannot do. I answered, "I can sin." 2Tim2:13 says, "God cannot deny himself" along with multiple passages where his inability to lie is grounded in his nature.
It is not "He would not sin"; it's "He cannot sin."
I think you misunderstand.
I don't like the metaphor "author" the WCF uses. It's imprecise in a very precise document. So I say there is no "author."
God is the [ultimate] cause of everything. But he is not the doer of everything. He ordains sin but is not the doer of it.
@NowThatsaRAP@Pastor_ChrisH Have you thought it out? Someone else is authoring much of what God determined since God determined all things that come to pass , but is not the author. In fact someone else other than God is authoring most of what happened since most of what happens is sin. You affirm that?
In my experience preachers and apologists use "permission" to get God off the hook. It does not.
"It can so easily be taken in opposite ways" is often leveled against the Bible: so many interpretations. The variation is not in the document but in the interpreters.
@NowThatsaRAP Other people who affirm the Westminster Confession will affirm that God permits things. It's not a great document if it can so easily be taken in opposite ways.
John Adams, writing to Abigail, about the Continental Congress' vote in favor of independence on July 2, 1776:
"The Second Day of July 1776, will be the most memorable Epocha, in the History of America. I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated, by succeeding Generations, as the great anniversary Festival. It ought to be commemorated, as the Day of Deliverance by solemn Acts of Devotion to God Almighty. It ought to be solemnized with Pomp and Parade, with Shews, Games, Sports, Guns, Bells, Bonfires and Illuminations from one End of this Continent to the other from this Time forward forever more. You will think me transported with Enthusiasm but I am not. -- I am well aware of the Toil and Blood and Treasure, that it will cost Us to maintain this Declaration, and support and defend these States. -- Yet through all the Gloom I can see the Rays of ravishing Light and Glory. I can see that the End is more than worth all the Means. And that Posterity will tryumph in that Days Transaction, even altho We should rue it, which I trust in God We shall not."
America is the only nation on earth built on a sentence spoken by Christ: render unto Caesar what is Caesar’s, and unto God what is God’s.
Every other country in history handed the whole of man to the state, his labor, his allegiance, and his soul alike, or handed the state to a church and called the fusion holy.
America alone drew the line exactly where Christ drew it. It gave Caesar the coin, the law, the road, and the sword, everything that is Caesar’s, and then it stopped, because the conscience was never Caesar’s to take.
It belongs to God, and no congress, no king, no majority may claim it.
A government that claims everything it is owed and nothing it is not, a people standing directly before God with rights no ruler granted and no ruler can revoke.
We are not the only nation that speaks of freedom. But we are the only nation that figures out where true freedom lies (in the untouchable sanctuary of the soul) and then built a country whose entire purpose is to guard that sanctuary and never allow the government entry.
Our founders looked at the human conscience and said this is holy ground, given freely to God. Never government. Never kings. Never institutions.
“Let us begin by stating that communism and Christianity are at the bottom incompatible. One cannot be a true Christian and a true Communist simultaneously. How then is Communism irreconcilable with Christianity?
In the first place it leaves out God and Christ. It is avowedly secularistic and materialistic. It regards religion psychologically as mere wishful thinking, intellectually as the product of fear and ignorance, and historically as serving the ends of exploiters. Because of public opinion authorities have had to modify some of their anti-religous doctrines, but the official policy of the communist party is still atheistic.
In the second place the methods of communism are diametrically opposed to Christianity. Since for the Communist there is no Divine government, no absolute moral order, there are no fixed, immutable principles. Force, violence, murder, and lying are all justifiable means to the millennial end. Said Lenin, ‘we must be ready to employ tricking, deceit, and lawbreaking, withholding and concealing truth.’ That the followers of Lenin have been willing to act upon his instructions is a matter of history.
In the third place, the end of communism is the state. I shall qualify this by saying that the state in Communist theory is a temporary reality which is to be eliminated when the classless society emerges. But it is true that the state is the end while it lasts. Man becomes only a means to that end. And if any man’s so called rights or liberties stand in the way of that end, they are simply swept aside. His liberties of press or pulpit expression, his freedom to vote, his freedom to listen to what news he likes or to choose his books and even his friendships are all restricted. Man has to be a servant, dutiful and submissive, of the State, and the state is omnipotent and supreme.” - Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr (from the sermon “Communism’s Challenge to Christianity”)
"Capitalist boss who doesn't work" is where you go awry and your argument collapses.
Also...if the capitalist boss DOES work, are you willing to give up your socialist fantasy? Asking for a country....
(3) that diligently seek him; and withal, most just, and terrible in his judgements, hating all sin, and who will by no means clear the guilty.
Do you mean this definition of God, @ThinkingOne3?
