"Adderall makes me feel like i'm able to cure cancer".
Yeah no shit.
Dopamine helps our brains evaluate whether a reward is worth the energy required to get it.
When dopamine levels are depleted, the brain overestimates the "cost" of effort and underestimates the value of the reward, leading to low motivation.
Conversely, dopamine-enhancing drugs like amphetamines shift this calculation.
They increase a person's willingness to exert effort, even when the probability of a payoff is low or the task is tedious (cleaning a room etc).

The kindest thing literature does is remind you that your peculiar little feelings have always existed. Someone, in some century, was equally confused by love, bored by society, tired of performing, and hungry for meaning.
“we want more complex female characters!!” no actually, you don’t. you want female characters who stand up for themselves without making any mistakes along the way. you want female characters whose trauma have made them kind and understanding instead of making them angry.
