"Iron sharpens iron.
You don’t level up by staying the smartest in the room.
Here’s how to make brilliance your ally, not your insecurity:
1/ Start with humility
↳ Assume someone always knows something you don’t.
2/ Invite better minds in
↳ Surround yourself with challengers, not cheerleaders.
3/ Watch your defensiveness
↳ Feeling threatened is a cue to get curious, not combative.
4/ Ask instead of impress
↳ Questions open more doors than answers.
5/ Share the mic
↳ Let others shine. It reflects back on you.
6/ Celebrate their wins
↳ Their success isn’t your failure—it’s your proximity to growth.
You don’t need to be the smartest to lead.
You need to be secure enough to learn from those who are." Dr Chris Mullen
Page 52 under “Uncooperative Potatoes” had me in stitches! I haven’t laughed that hard in ages. Those rebellious spuds deserve their own sitcom. My only regret? Cracking the book open mid-flight. I tried to hold it in, but ugly-laughing at 30,000 feet wasn’t part of the plan. Couldn't resist!
Someone asked me if now is a good time to start a startup, with all the uncertainty in the world. The answer is yes, because the dominant factor in the outcome of a startup is whether the founders can discover a great product, not the political or economic environment.
I used to think <person> was smart. Then I discovered that he disagrees with me about <political issue>, and I realized he couldn't be, because no one who disagrees with me about <political issue> could be smart.
