Dear @DOGE, can you look into how the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), which administers Medicare, pays MILLIONS to the American Medical Association (AMA) in licensing fees (often referred to as “royalties”) for the use of its Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) code set?
Current estimates are that licensing this list of codes generates over $100 million in annual revenue for the AMA.
They add zero value and are a tax on American healthcare and the American people.
