A week is a long time in politics, they say. RT to update now we have some data!! #Selby & #Ainsty won with support of 20.5% eligible electorate (a grouping that itself excludes the unregistered/ineligible). The only clear signal here is Westminster bubble needs to #DoBetter!

My position remains: a majority share of minority turnout (from only those bothered to register) is an issue. I fear we witnessed expensive & elaborate auction of bragging rights.

@femina_iuris thank you! Voter apathy, disaffection and anger are deafening "on the doorstep", but nobody's measuring extent or causes. Our ballot paper offers no option for these people. By-election a golden opportunity to measure. Let's learn something useful #np4mp

@NadineDorries I can confirm that plenty of voters in #selby& #Ainsty wanted Boris, but then you lot couldn't keep discipline. When the facts change, people change their minds. He blew a massive advantage & ordinary people suffer. Another example #DoBetter,Westminster! #np4mp

#SelbyAndAinsty Voter ID not everyone's cup of tea, but I can confirm it is possible to vote using an expired document (providing there remains a likeness). FYI of 13 candidates, only 5 live in constituency. 3 main Westminster parties couldn't find a local to stand!! #np4mp
