Industry standard is for accelerator pedal to override automatic braking.
• Honda (Collision Mitigation Braking System / CMBS): Cancels automatic braking if the accelerator pedal is “deeply depressed.”
• Chevrolet / GM: Notes that you can override automatic braking systems by pressing the accelerator when it is safe to do so. ACC automatic braking is temporarily disabled while on the gas.
• Subaru EyeSight, Toyota Safety Sense, etc.: Similar behavior — ACC braking pauses during accelerator override. Full AEB is usually suppressed by strong gas pedal input but remains a safety net if the driver is not actively accelerating.
@Teslarati Back-in versus forward-in driveway parking option. Also left-side versus right-side driveway parking option.
Minimum following distance setting (in secs) for highway/freeway driving.
@ConceptualJames Just think of the poor historians of the future trying to unwind the cause of the unprecedented rise in “female” violence in the early 21st Century. 🙂
@ABridgen That’s known as the “Merkel” and is an example of a “scholar’s cradle.” See Lindybeige’s hour long video on the subject for more information. https://t.co/GHgszBDtKK
@ScottGreenfield Amuse screwed up and merged together quotes by Stephen Miller and Derrick Evans. The “no due process” line is from Evans not Miller, and appears nowhere in the Miller video.
