Excited to share a thread on our recent paper, “Mapping United States federal funding for mental health difficulties from 2020-2024 to the Hierarchical Taxonomy of Psychopathology: A registered report,” at Journal of Psychopathology and Clinical Science!

Finally, I'd like to send a huge thank you to my co-authors: @eliberman22, @CourtlandHyatt, @Leigha_RoseW, Tom Olino, Don Lynam, and Josh Miller.
This project was a beast at times, and I am very grateful for all their guidance and support
Ultimately, we hope this paper offers an empirical foundation for discussions and approaches of this kind to ensure that the distribution of funding across areas of psychopathology aligns with how we, as a field, believe it should be allocated.
@PsychRabble@dreddiewaldrep @drl4567 @sbkaufman The focus of our paper was on the APA code of ethics, the assertion was that the code was being altered to adopt radical ideology, and that’s what all of my questions have been about. Saying it hardly matters is just circumventing the discussion
@dreddiewaldrep@PsychRabble @drl4567 @sbkaufman I’m trying to engage in this discussion in good faith but you’ve now answered my multiple genuine questions with questions rather than providing any piece of evidence for your assertion that the APA is adopting radical ideology in its code of ethics.
@dreddiewaldrep@PsychRabble @drl4567 @sbkaufman The “Draft APA Revised Ethical Principles of Psychologists and Code of Conduct”? Yes, I did. What are you seeing in this document that raises concerns about radical ideology?
@dreddiewaldrep@PsychRabble @drl4567 @sbkaufman Maybe I’m missing something, but I’m not seeing any specific proposed changes described that map onto these concerns. It seems like the APA is broadly asking for folks to provide suggestions for the new revision but there’s no sense yet as to what will or will not be adopted
@sbkaufman @drl4567 Thanks for highlighting our work, Scott. As Don mentioned, this abstract was actually not written by us but must have been AI generated or written by an APA editorial assistant. I encourage everyone to read through this short opinion piece rather than rely on the abstract alone
