Another of our PhD candidates, Matthias (@MesoMatze), presented the initial findings from the MoodRides study at the GCSSM in Tübingen: in a crossover study, patients with depression undertook HIIT and self-selected intensity training.
At the GCSSM in Tübingen, Finn presented our crossover trial: in 24 trained men, high- and low-intensity resistance exercise triggered similar kynurenine pathway responses. The drop in affect during exercise, not intensity, was linked to pathway activation.
We continue our Tour des Présentations with Dana, who presented the first results on some of the psychological outcomes from our HealthFit RCT.
A super nice poster highlighting the effects of HIIT and stretching in MDD patients.
Throwback to Ali’s presentation at the GCSSM in Tübingen. As one of our PhD students, he presented relevant findings on how exercise modulates inflammasomes in neurodegenerative & -psychiatric disorders. Great to see our team’s work being discussed at such an exciting congress!
How does a single bout of exercise shape our immune response? 🧬 At the GCSSM, Miriam Ringleb, a member of our unit, presented her meta-analyses, connecting myokine responses with immune-cell dynamics and showing how exercise type, intensity and duration shape these responses. 💪
The German Congress of Science in Sports Medicine in Tübingen, started with the YoungDGSP Pre-Day. Matthias and Florian presented first results from our REDscan project, exploring psychological risk factors as potential early indicators in REDs screening.
Great few days at the German Congress of Science in Sports Medicine in Tübingen!
It was really great to be there together as a team, with so many presentations from our unit! 👏
From the pre-day and Institute Olympics to the main conference and Impro theatre — what a schedule!
Fellow Athletes! 🏋️♂️ REDS affects many athletes, especially in sports where lower body weight may be advantageous. If detected too late, it can seriously impact physical & mental health.🥇
