I have some thoughts about strategic voting, the conditions that make it work, and why doing so uncritically this election is likely a mistake.
(Coles notes: FPTP is responsible for strategic voting; Trudeau is responsible for FPTP.)

Poll. Please rt.
If a bunch of straight cis parents were insisting gay kids be called "children living with gay",
while every gay-led group in the world said gay people prefer the term "gay people",
Would you expect "progressive" politicians to use THE PARENTS' terminology?
One of the biggest companies on earth run by one of the richest men on earth making workers work through a tornado and not providing shelter for them is not a mistake, or a coincidence. It's a choice to spend money on things like space tourism instead of safety and human lives.
@Nicholasrabba That OHIP doesn't cover speech therapy is a problem. The solution is to address that issue and ensure Autistic children get the support they need, not to force them into an inappropriate situation. As others have said, Autistic people do not support ABA.
While you’re celebrating Britney’s win, don’t forget to start helping non-famous disabled people get justice in our frequent battles for autonomy, too.
@FunFactsLulu I wish I'd understood that my problem with taking phone calls in a busy 'open' office was with the way my brain works and not just that I was 'bad' at phone calls and needed to work harder at them.
@FadeN2Yuu @FunFactsLulu That doesn't sound right? A quick Google search showed a bunch in Toronto alone. I've had an MRI in Hamilton. It was 7 months between getting the order and my appointment, but the machine did exist.
CN: ABA, mentions of abuse
When it comes to trying to make your autistic child less autistic ABA is terrible, and most of the parents who put their child through ABA therapy don't even know it. The physical, verbal, and emotional abuse that a patient can go through. 1/4
Ontario’s election is 8 months away, I wonder how many people will vote for buck a beer 2.0 ?
Doug Ford highlights:
*License plates that don't work at night
*Lost 30 million in court costs fighting the carbon levy
*Didn't address school class sizes during the pandemic
*LTC
@kylejhutton Turns out if we keep electing governments that give the fossil fuel industry subsidies then the fossil fuel industries will keep asking for subsidies.
@CQualtro What about emergency supports for Canadians who aren't workers and don't own businesses? We may not have been 'productive' from a capitalist point of view in the couple years before the pandemic but that doesn't mean we don't deserve to live a life of dignity.
You know, I thought I would be angry, or at least annoyed with the unvaxxed in ICU. But I’m not. Because as I walk around, seeing patient after patient on their bellies, fielding calls from worried family, analyzing ever worsening bloodwork, reading patients histories…
No one can explain to me why a billionaire losing 7 billion in the stock market in one day is fine, but a billionaire losing 7 billion to a wealth tax is impossible.
@DrooleO @riding_day @MRyan_4 @kylejhutton This simply isn't true and it's frustrating to hear it repeated as often as it is. Only people attached to the fossil fuel industry think this, but it gets repeated as though it is a universal truth.
@AutSciPerson For me it's not going to bed. Sometimes I just sit at the computer, doing absolutely nothing relevant. Just letting the day melt away in a way that doesn't happen lying in bed.
