@SamOlbur@SamOlbur have you watched the Amazon Prime Video doc on the 2016 game 7? You hear things like brotherhood, pass the baton to the next guy and trust him, play for each other. Things I would honestly not associate with this team. Wth happened in 10 years to get here?
@CubsSkipper Just rewatched the 2016 game 7 doc on Amazon Prime Video. So refreshing to see a great Cubs team again, so sad we didn’t get more out of that. This team gives me zero percent vibes of that team or 2015. Just feels not even close
@JTCharles01@croner2110@Brett_A_Taylor We lost to a team that got absolutely demolished by the Dodgers. Yeah we were so close 😂 that’s absurdity and you know it, come on
@JTCharles01@croner2110@Brett_A_Taylor Right. And yet, no division titles or anything close to being a serious contender with that group. I honestly think what they are is a lot of really nice players, that for some reason when put together can’t win our small market division.
@JTCharles01@croner2110@Brett_A_Taylor Happ gets his slightly above average numbers every year
Nico disappeared
Horton may never be the same when he pitches
Ditto for Steele
PCA is a stud
Palencia will help restock our farm by the deadline
@JTCharles01@croner2110@Brett_A_Taylor I don’t quite agree with you, I think they’re out there. However, it definitely feels like more and more teams are shifting to developing their own players instead of playing the free agency game. I have no data to back that up, just a feeling thing
@jw_mike@SamOlbur That’s not technically true. I think it’s the opposite, you want to extend whoever you can before a lockout if you’re uncertain which way it’s gonna go, particularly if you think that’s part of your core for the next 5 years
@ChiefCub I hate these numbers so much. Guys used to pitch more with no problem, and I get velo is up (except for us) but man, seems like we just follow a spreadsheet formula to try to win and it’s not working
