NRM Diaspora Chairman Olara Backs Mapenduzi: “An Acholi Asset Worth Supporting”
In a strong show of support from the diaspora, Mr. Olara, Chairman of the NRM UK and Ireland Chapter, has endorsed Hon. Martin Ojara Mapenduzi for the Bardege-Layibi Division MP seat, calling him “an Acholi asset with a proven record of transformative leadership.”
Mr. Olara praised Mapenduzi’s pivotal role in elevating Gulu Municipality to city status and for spearheading tangible development across Gulu District during his time as LC5 Chairperson.
> “Mapenduzi didn’t just occupy office—he built roads, improved schools, and brought Gulu to national recognition. He’s a tested leader who delivers, not divides,” Olara said.
He urged voters to rally behind Mapenduzi, warning against divisive politics and internal sabotage.
> “The diaspora supports leaders who work, not those who insult. Mapenduzi's return to NRM strengthens the party. He is not a threat—he’s an asset Acholi must protect,” Olara added.
With growing grassroots and diaspora support, Mapenduzi continues to stand out as a unifying and visionary leader for Northern Uganda.
Uganda Airlines’ UK Route: A Bold Step Towards National Pride and Diaspora Engagement
In a significant move that reflects Uganda’s growing global presence, the Government of Uganda has officially launched direct flights between Entebbe and the United Kingdom through Uganda Airlines. This historic step marks not just the revival of our national carrier but also a renewed commitment to strengthening ties with the Ugandan diaspora and fostering economic diplomacy.
As a proud passenger on this milestone flight, I witnessed firsthand the professionalism, pride, and progress that Uganda Airlines now embodies. The aircraft did not just carry passengers—it carried hope, identity, and the spirit of a nation on the rise.
This development is more than a transportation milestone; it’s a strategic pillar in the NRM government’s broader vision of connectivity, trade expansion, tourism promotion, and diaspora inclusion. With this UK route, Uganda opens wider doors for investment, cultural exchange, and global networking. Our people abroad can now connect more easily with home, and our country’s image is being uplifted with every take-off and landing.
I extend my deep appreciation to H.E. President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, the Office of the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Works and Transport, and the entire Uganda Airlines team for steering this visionary initiative to reality. Special appreciation also goes to @JaneBarekye, @AnitahAmong, and the @NRMOnline leadership for their unwavering commitment to Uganda’s progress.
Indeed, this is not just about aviation; it’s about ambition. It’s about saying to the world: Uganda is open, ready, and soaring.

The NRM Deputy Secretary General Rt. Hon. @RoseNamayanja has arrived at Kasana playground in Luwero District for the Buganda for Museveni mobilisation rally as party officials continue to showcase the NRM government's achievements and rallying support for President Yoweri Museveni and all NRM flagbearers ahead of the 2026 general elections.
Namayanja is accompanied by the Attorney General, Hon. Kiryowa Kiwanuka; Ministers led by Hon. Ruth Nankabirwa Ssentamu; Hon. Robert Ndugwa Migadde, Chairman of the NRM Buganda Caucus; and several other NRM MPs from Buganda.
Today's event is being hosted by Hon. Agnes Kirabo Nantongo, Female Youth MP for the Central Region.
I concluded my tour of the Tooro region at a rally in Kitagwenda District, where I thanked residents for their commitment to peace and the rejection of rebellion. It's through our collective efforts that we have maintained stability in our communities.
The NRM has prioritised politics of interest, empowering all our people regardless of religion or tribe. I emphasised the crucial role of homestead income in uplifting families. While infrastructure like roads and electricity is vital, financial stability must start at the household level. The PDM is a key solution to getting our people out of poverty, providing 100 million annually to each parish.
Finally, I reaffirmed our commitment to free education. We shall announce plans for more teacher recruitment and classroom construction.
In Kyenjojo District. Today, H.E the President @KagutaMuseveni with Mama @JanetMuseveni commissioned the presidential skilling hub. I ague Kyenjojo communities to take advantage of this hub to gain more skills. Mostly the youth.
I thank the President for this initiative that has changed peoples lives to better in the country.
Acholi opposition MPs must move beyond political theatrics and focus on real solutions. Instead of petitions, they should push for war compensation, agricultural funding, and regional investment. The Apaa conflict needs sustainable action, not rhetoric. @NRMOnline, @pwatchug
Acholi opposition MPs, once fierce NRM critics, now scramble to join the ruling party. Is this a genuine change of heart or mere political survival ahead of 2026? @NRMOnline must be cautious—loyalty is proven through actions, not convenience. @JaneBarekye, @StateHouseUg
Uganda’s political landscape faces growing concerns as security forces violently target opposition supporters, suppressing rallies with excessive force. These actions fuel fear, hinder political freedoms, and tarnish Uganda’s international reputation.@abbey_walusimbi@StateHouseUg
