@Big_Mck The trick is, they pick different songs from different genres and artists from different parts of the world, so it seems like he has a diverse taste in music.
My aunt worked at the same bank for almost 28 years.
When she retired, the staff surprised her with a farewell party.
Everyone brought gifts.
Everyone except the branch manager.
He handed her a plain white envelope.
She thanked him and slipped it into her purse without opening it.
Later that night, our whole family gathered at her house.
She opened every gift.
The envelope was the last thing she reached for.
When she looked inside…
she quietly folded the paper back up and said,
“I’m taking this back tomorrow.”
We were all confused.
@UnkleAyo I keep thinking about how life will be for the kids after they get home to their families. I really hope life becomes kinder to them going forward.
“Nonchalant” will regret the day it entered twitter ng 😭
Because the way people use that word now, you’d think it means wickedness, lack of care, emotional abuse, irresponsibility and satanism combined 😭
A lot of Nigerian women don’t even use “nonchalant” to describe actual nonchalance anymore. They use it for anything that doesn’t fit their preferred style of affection or communication.
If he’s not texting every 5 minutes = nonchalant.
If he’s not doing dramatic reassurance every day = nonchalant.
If he’s calm during arguments = nonchalant.
If he’s not loud about emotions = nonchalant.
If he’s not constantly panicking about losing you = nonchalant.
But being expressive and being loving are not the same thing.
And yes, somebody can absolutely love you and still be nonchalant.
Nonchalance in itself simply means being calm, unbothered, emotionally steady or not overly reactive. It is not automatically lack of love. Sometimes it’s just temperament. Personality. Upbringing. Emotional style.
Some people are highly expressive, always talking, always posting, always emotional, always doing grand gestures, and they will still lie, cheat, manipulate or disappear when it matters most.
A man can be soft spoken, reserved and lowkey yet genuinely love you with everything he has.
Another man can write threads about love, spam affection 24/7 and still not value you at all.
The problem is that social media has slowly redefined love into performance.
Now people think:
visible anxiety = love
constant validation = love
overreaction = love
public display = love
So the moment somebody is emotionally composed, suddenly they’re “nonchalant.”
Of course there ARE people who use “that’s just how I am” to excuse emotional neglect, poor communication and lack of effort. That one is different entirely. Somebody can be caring and still communicate badly. Somebody can be calm and still be inconsiderate.
But that still does not change the fact that nonchalance and love are two separate things.
You can be:
loving + nonchalant
loving + expressive
unloving + expressive
unloving + nonchalant
They are independent traits.
Twitter ng just heard one word and turned it into a criminal offense now😭
