Any review of the banking system for Viksit Bharat must start with ground realities—staff shortages, rising workload, and long-pending demands like #5DaysBanking. Strong banks need respected and rested bankers.Preparing banks for Viksit Bharat is impossible without addressing the concerns of bank employees. Structural reforms must go hand in hand with humane work conditions, fair policies, and institutional strengthening.

The commitment to a 5-Day workweek in banking has been pending long enough.
This isn’t about convenience —
it’s about dignity, health, and sustainable performance.
Promises aren’t policies until they’re acted upon.
Honour it. Notify it. Implement it.
#5DaysWeekForBankers
On the auspicious occasion of the #RepublicDay2026, the @fboioa_india extends its heartfelt greetings and best wishes to all our esteemed members and their families.
This day reminds us of the values enshrined in our Constitution — justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity — which continue to guide our nation and inspire our collective struggle for dignity, rights, and fairness.
As officers of a public sector bank, let us reaffirm our commitment to nation-building, public service, integrity, and unity, while standing firmly together to safeguard the rights and interests of our fraternity.
Let us celebrate this proud moment with renewed resolve, solidarity, and confidence in our collective strength.
Jai Hind! 🇮🇳
India’s entire financial architecture runs on a 5-day work week—
Except the bankers who keep it running. 15 lakh Bank employees are still denied a basic, humane reform.
Parity isn’t a privilege. It’s justice.
A modern economy demands modern work practices.RBI, Govt offices, LIC, and insurers follow a 5-day week—bank employees must too.
Equality at work is not optional.
#5DaysWeekForBankers
This is not a privilege—
It is about fairness, parity, and respect for those who safeguard public money every day.
Approve 5-Day Banking now.

India speaks of productivity, efficiency, and ease of doing business. Then why cling to an outdated 6-day work week for bankers?
Modern banking needs modern work norms.
#5DaysWeekForBankers
Public sector banks run government schemes, DBT, pensions, MSME credit & financial inclusion.
This doesn’t happen on “holidays.”
5-Day Banking recognises the real workload of bankers.
#BankersDemand5DayWeek
Bank employees are central to financial inclusion, credit delivery, and economic resilience. Burnout cannot be the price of nation-building. A 5-day work week is overdue. The assurance exists—execution must follow.
#BankersDemand5DayWeek
A 5-day banking week would align with global practices, making banking more accessible for everyone in India. #Implement5DayBanking https://t.co/cjxMlZH6Io
A better banking experience starts with a sustainable workweek. With acute staff shortages and mounting stress, 5-day banking is about public service and employee well-being, not a privilege.
UFBU has been pressing since 2015; IBA has already recommended it to the Government (MoU 07-12-2023), and the 12th Bipartite/9th Joint Note (08-03-2024) records the Saturday holiday clause, pending approvals/clearances.
Honour what’s on record. Approve all Saturdays off.
