Following today’s legally unsound Supreme Court ruling, I am urging the Biden Administration to implement a Plan B immediately to cancel student debt for tens of millions of Americans.
Read my full statement here:
This week, #SCOTUS struck down the ability to ameliorate the currency of racism, legalized discrimination against the LGBTQ community, and blocked access to debt relief for millions. Real people. Real lives. Real consequences. Elections matter at every level, every year. Let’s get it done.
Discrimination is wrong.
Using religion as an excuse to discriminate is wrong - and unconstitutional.
The Court’s minority is right: the Constitution is no license for a business to discriminate.
Today’s ruling will move America backward.
Justice Alito accepted tens of thousands of dollars in lavish vacation gifts from a billionaire who lobbied to cancel the student loan forgiveness.
After the gifts, Alito voted to overturn. This SCOTUS’ corruption undercuts its own legitimacy by putting its rulings up for sale.
In the 1950s, CEOs were paid 20x more than the average worker.
In the 1980s, CEOs were paid 59x more.
In 2009, CEOs were paid 180x more.
Today, CEOs are paid 399x more than the average worker.
We must put an end to this rampant greed and inequality.
I will be re-introducing my bill to extend Social Security's solvency for the next 75 years & expand benefits by $2,400 a year. How? By scrapping the cap. Today, a billionaire pays the same amount into Social Security as someone making $160,000 a year. Let's end that absurdity.
In Denmark, the average worker in McDonald's makes $22 an hour, receives 6 weeks of paid vacation, 1 year of paid family leave, life insurance and a pension. Yes. If McDonald's workers in Denmark can have a decent standard of living, we can do it in the U.S. #McDonaldsStrike
Instead of letting PT “scope of practice” define my limitations .....
I partnered with an MD and DO that respect and trust my clinical judgement and provide for my patients where I cannot (i.e. meds, imaging)
Teamwork makes the dream work
Period.

Haven’t heard this discussed enough, but on top of the things Trump said on Jan. 6 — “If you don’t fight like hell, you’re not gonna have a country anymore,” etc. — it’s worth remembering that he also retweeted a video this year saying “the only good Democrat is a dead Democrat.”

We need an economy that works for all of us, not the 1%.
If Republicans get their way:
🩺 No more preventative care requirement
💊 No more pre-existing condition protections
🤒 No more Medicaid expansion
👭 Women will be charged more for care
