That trash oil is the same a Canadian crude. Our southern refineries are set up to refine that crude better than the sweet crude that is produced in Texas. That is how we get diesel and asphalt roadways. Russian refineries are also set up to refine dirty oil. Hence the higher prices of diesel around the world.

We knew that fuel would go up. What we didn't count on was Ukraine bombing the refineries in Russia that raised the price of diesel past the point of acceptable.
Maybe we should hold back on exporting diesel to Europe and keep it for ourselves and let the rest of the world figure it out for themselves. We don't have to use the world pricing.
