@justin_liew Iโd say start local- candidates that fight for climate, community gardens, circular economic companies and orgs. Bring it to your backyard and influence your community
# of COVID deaths per year in Canada:
2020: 15,307
2021: 14,606
2022: 19,035
Let's get one thing straight: 2022 wasn't the year that we โlearned to live with COVID.โ It was the year we were told to ignore COVID while it continued to cause mass suffering, disability, and death.
I'm working on an art piece that will be called "So you want to work in climate" and I'd love to crowdsource your fave resources.
I started a google sheet if you'd like to add in there or comment here! Retweets appreciated ๐https://t.co/EjKRND2rty
Barring a breakthrough, @nytimes Guild staff will walk out from midnight to 11:59pm tomorrow, Dec. 8. We ask readers to stand with us on the digital picket line and not visit any NYT platforms tomorrow. Read local news! Make something from a cookbook! Break your Wordle streak!
Canada's Healthcare Crisis:
Pediatric hospice discharges respite patients, so staff are redeployed to children's hospital where there's not enough staff for the surge in patients
Dr. @JVipondmd says he doesn't recognize the society he's living in

How today started @BCChildrensHosp in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. The lack of leadership, outrage + transparency is deplorable. #PICU in crisis, #ER times brutal, surgeries cancelled + kids dying of the flu. #bcpoli#CodeOrange
"How on earth could Covid infection cause kids to die of Strep A?
What a ridiculous claim!"
I'm begging you to read and share this reply to that question.
The important point is in tweet 4

Thread time. Here's the thing about @tesla. It's not a car company. Tesla is a company that has to make cars in order to sell its real product: Emissions Credits.
Let me explain. Back in 2012, the EPA put out new, strident emissions standards for new vehicles fleetwide. 1/
Iโm a quiet Twitter user. I learn, laugh, rarely engage. So many found friends, partners, community here and Iโm so sad for them. Iโm sad watching them say good-bye. Iโm sad for the people who worked there and built a great culture. I hope I find you all again.
Listening to todays briefing - One major take home from todays @adriandix and @CDCofBC is that:
Parents @BCschoolCovid - do not rely on the govt to put in safe guards at this time. As parents, we need to make the call of whatโs needed for our kids. Includes:
Dr. Henry, today:
"It's very important to make schools an inclusive environment"
Weird, because my daughter has been excluded from them for 2+ years now because her classmates mostly won't mask. I know she's not the only one.
I don't know who needs to hear this, but BC's Provincial Health Officer is currently lying through her teeth. She's saying things that, by virtue of her position, she must know to be false.
I hate using the word lie, but Dr. Bonnie Henry is lying to the Canadian public.
