We celebrated Eid this afternoon at GEH maternity- midwives, nurses, secretaries, admin staff, managers, anaesthetists, paediatricians and obgyn - multicultural and multidisciplinary with food and music, dancing and henna tattoos. People who have fun together work well together
The George Eliot Women’s and Children’s Christmas ‘fuddle’- plenty to eat and drink shared with all those who worked so well together over the last year. Merry Christmas everyone and a Happy New Year, from the senior management team at GEH W&C
The gynaecology secretaries invited us to judge a Christmas ‘bake off’ today - I think the gingerbread house did it for me - so cute! My colleague and I nibbled at the chimney, so nowhere for Santa to go through any more, Mr Gingerbread Man will have to leave the door unlocked
It must be Christmas- Santa’s come to labour suite to visit so we thought we’d get our request in quick-smart…
Santa baby, just slip a Sable under the tree for me
Been an awful good girl
Santa baby, I want a yacht and really that's not a lot
So hurry down the chimney tonight

Happy Diwali- the doctors from O&G hosted a lunch party for the entire unit - everyone was welcome to a fabulous home cooked Indian meal, welcomed with a bindi and we finished with a dance performance- very multicultural, and multidisciplinary- much like the way we work!
Diwali celebrated at GEH maty- organising it brought the consultants together and celebrating with us brought the rest of the unit in with us. We even had a bit of dancing and everyone got a little sticker bindi to welcome them to the party

With some of my CPT medical students from Warwick Medical School, now in their final year. It has been lovely to mentor them over the last two years, until they qualify next year. We do our face to face meetings in the pub- that guarantees their attendance 😂😂
Bonding with my colleagues at the George Eliot Maternity Unit Perinatal Awards Ceremony last night- I am privileged to work with such a fabulous bunch of people! It was a fabulous evening and everyone involved were so pleased to be there - we’ll have to do it again next year
At our annual end of year barbecue to say goodbye to all our hardworking junior doctors who move on to new pastures in the first week of August.
