Question for my EV-driving friends. When leaving your car at the airport for several days, more than one or two, do you leave the car plugged in to the public level 2 chargers in long term parking or is this bad etiquette? Long term parking would indicate it's okay, in my eyes.
Doing some roadtripping in both the Lightning and the Mach-E lately. Using a variety of chargers and not a single hiccup charging. Trips are simply a non-issue in EV’s anymore.
Two Sunday activities you could try this weekend:
1. Watching Model Y owners back into Superchargers
2. Watching weekend family boaters launch their boat at the ramp
@MatttDye@ChargePointnet It sounds like I've just had a very different experience with charging. My two Fords have Supercharger access with an adapter, but I also have a number of Lincoln Electric, Francis Energy, EVgo, and Ionna around. I tend to avoid the Chargepoint 50-60kW chargers like the plague.
@MatttDye@ChargePointnet My point is that if Chargepoint chargers don’t work for you, you can’t blame the rest of the auto industry. You don’t have to buy a Tesla to get a great charging experience. This is coming from someone that has to take up two spots at a Supercharger with my Fords.
@MatttDye@ChargePointnet Do you have a Leaf? Complaining about the lack of ChaDeMo charging in 2026 is like complaining about public phone chargers not having mini USB connections.
So I have two level 2 chargers at home. The Ford Charge Station Pro exclusively charges the Mach-E and my EVIQO exclusively charges the Lightning. My hot tub is plugged into the energy use monitor. Yes, the hot tub uses nearly as much energy as both electric cars in one month.
I got to have my first @Tesla FSD experience today. I took a Model Y demo drive around Charleston, WV. I have to say, it’s truly amazing tech. I can totally see someone buying one purely because of FSD.
@itskyleconner@LightshipRV What’s the weight? I’d love to see what it would do behind my SR Lightning. I don’t have the tow package though, so my truck is only rated for 5,000 lbs.
@bowefamilyEV I definitely prefer these 25 XLT wheels to the older machine-face wheels. The only modification I’ve made is the gloss black door handle and side mirror covers. I can’t stand unpainted black plastic.
