The Nebraska State Patrol Police Service Dog Unit is one of the many specialty divisions within NSP. Account not monitored 24/7. Dial 911 for emergencies.
Help me congratulate Trp. Rice and Trp. Royle in completing both narcotic certification and patrol certification. Their dogs PSD RJ and PSD Phoenix will be finding drugs and dangerous suspects in an area near you. This process took them approximately 4 months of training nonstop.
From assisting the Marshals in Lincoln to ripping multiple drug loads in Troop D. Assisting with high speed pursuits near North Platte. Working accidents, DUIs, and assisting with Nebraskaland Days with safety. Our dogs are busy. Congrats PSD Phoenix on his first drug load.
Our handlers are blessed by the Nebraska State Patrol with amazing training opportunities. PSD Loki and PSD Gable were able to attend a K9 conference in Colorado to hone their skills. They then come back with knowledge and share with the group. @NEStatePatrol
PSDs Frank, Tilt, and Loki made it out to Western Nebraska to assist @NSPSpecialOps. PSD Frank got to see Chimney Rock for the first time. He was thrilled...
Our handler and his PSD had an AMAZING traffic stop today. PSD Gable assisted in locating approximately 525 lbs of suspected Cocaine. Our handlers and their PSDs will find you. #smugglers#thenoseknows
The DCSO responded to a property damage accident earlier this afternoon at the intersection of 204th and Harrison. We are extremely grateful that the @NEStatePatrol Trooper and K9 are uninjured.
Accidents like this are completely avoidable and highlight the importance of following all traffic laws. Slow down, stay alert, avoid distractions, yield the right of way, and follow all traffic laws, especially when emergency vehicles are approaching. A moment of caution can save lives.
This morning in west Omaha, a Trooper was driving to a call with lights and sirens when a truck drove around vehicles that were properly yielding and turned right in front of the Trooper. Thankfully there were no injuries, including to the NSP K9 in the unit.
The other driver received citations from @DCSheriffNE.
Always yield to emergency vehicles.
We lost a loyal companion today. He was a hard hitting, hard biting and drug finding MACHINE. A criminal's worst nightmare. But cancer ruins everything. Named in honor of fallen Trooper George Amos. Say hi to your training buddy PSD Lee up there.
May the 4th be with every law abiding citizen!! We appreciate your support. To the ones who keep breaking the law, violently. The PSD Unit will be there to find you... PSD Frank and PSD Tilt led to safe apprehensions of violent suspects. One in Hitchcock County and two in Lincoln
D.A.R.E. Day for 5th grade in North Platte. PSD Frank has all his equipment and toys ready to go!! PSD Frank only got a couple hours of sleep last night after a pursuit in Ogallala and manhunt ensued. @NEStatePatrol@NorthPlattePD#sayNOtoDrugs
Our handlers were busy yesterday. One assisted with a successful apprehension of a homicide Suspect. The other made a traffic stop on a smuggler with 3 kilos of cocaine. #kilos#homicidesuspect#PSDUnit#NebraskaStatePatrol
PSD handlers have to keep their skills honed. We are thankful to be able to go to outside trainings such as the one Trp. Potthoff was able to attend in Myrtle Beach, SC. He is a K9 instructor, evaluator and handler. Thus he needs to have the most up to date training.
A trip to the @NEStatePatrol Training Academy isn’t complete without visiting our top shelf @NSP_DogDivision.
It’s always impressive to see the dedication, patience, and pride our Troopers bring to this specialized training.
Huge shoutout to Trooper Rice & PSD RJ and Trooper Royle & PSD Phoenix! These teams are working hard toward dual purpose certification in both narcotics and patrol.
I’m proud of the entire PSD Unit and the vital work they do to protect and serve Nebraska. 💪🏻🇺🇸🚔🐕
PSD handlers use TFO knowledge and technology to send intel to other agencies for fugitive apprehension. This Merrick County fugitive was apprehended in possession of a firearm in Topeka KS, due to information sharing with one of our handlers!
Thanks! #TopekaPD#USMS
Last day of in-service training for a couple of PSD handlers. Shoutout to Heartland Shooting Park in Grand Island for having us out and as always to #Hornady for selling us some high quality ammo.
We are incredibly thankful and proud of our partnership with Midwest HIDTA strengthening our ability to make a positive impact on public safety and significantly reducing criminal activity across Nebraska. Outcomes made possible through partnerships, shared goals, and dedicated professionals. Thank you!
Not everyday is high-speed K9 stuff. NSP makes sure that their Troopers/PSD handlers are well over their yearly training requirements, like in-service. Plus Troopers are encouraged to assist with recruiting the next wave. Link below #JoinNSP#TheGoodLife
