Solution:
Instead of any quota system, treat OCI/PIO players as domestic players! This will certainly give more freedom to the clubs whether to sign or not!

West Bengal CM Suvendu Adhikari has stated that the proposed underground tunnel across the Hooghly has received NOC.

Interestingly, the project has been under study since 2024 as a potential freight and connectivity corridor linking the Kolkata Dock System with the National Highway network on the Howrah side.

Metiabruz ➜ Botanical Garden area

🎯 Key Objectives:

🚛 Faster cargo movement

⚓ Improved port connectivity

🌉 Reduced congestion around Kidderpore, Garden Reach, Hastings and Vidyasagar Setu

📦 Stronger logistics efficiency

Together with the proposed Water Metro, Deep Sea Port and broader maritime investments, the tunnel could become part of a larger river-centric connectivity strategy for West Bengal.

Detailed DPR, funding and implementation timelines are awaited.
