Ambedkar Jayanti is widely celebrated as the birth of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, who was a key architect of the Indian Constitution.

This is because the body replenishes its blood supply relatively quickly, and donating blood does not have a significant impact on one's health.

The myth that one can only donate blood once a year is just that, a myth. The truth is that you can donate blood as often as every 56 days, which is approximately once every two months.

[NSS,BIT Mesra @nssbitmesra]

Because of this, donated blood needs to be replenished constantly, and we are always looking for more volunteers to donate.

As blood has a limited shelf life, maintaining adequate supplies is an ongoing challenge. Donated red blood cells must be used within 42 days. Donated platelets must be used within 5 days.

Did you know that every pint of blood donated can save up to three lives? So before you think that blood donation is a small deed think about the people for whom it is a gift of life.

[NSS,BIT Mesra @nssbitmesra]

Every two seconds, a person in India requires blood. Timely availability of blood can give a person a second chance at life. Your droplets of blood can create an ocean of happiness!
