This adjustment follows stakeholder feedback to ensure a smooth and well-coordinated electoral process. All stakeholders and voters are encouraged to take note of the new date and participate accordingly.

The Electoral Commission has appointed the period from September 3 to September 24, 2025, as the official period for the nomination of candidates for the Local Government Councils Elections 2026.
The nomination exercise will be conducted at the respective venues for each council level, on weekdays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

We were honored to attend the parenting symposium and book launch organized by Mama Tendo Foundation and presided over by the First Lady Mrs. Janet Kataha Museveni as the Guest of Honor.
The event was a great opportunity to learn, network and get inspired by the various presenters.
One of the presenters highlighted how kids are mostly abused by relatives and people close to family.
The Commission is committed to supporting initiatives that nurture, empower parents and children to thrive within family and society.
Ms. Sarah Kalyowa, Ms. Kyobutungi Jennifer and Nsuube Richard represented the Commission.
The Electoral Commission has officially broke ground for the construction of its permanent Head Offices in Lubowa-Lweza, Wakiso District.
This event marks a major milestone in strengthening the Commission’s institutional capacity and improving the delivery of electoral services to the citizens of Uganda. The upcoming headquarters will provide purpose-built office space, warehousing, and integrated ICT infrastructure, bringing essential electoral functions under one roof for greater efficiency and accessibility.
The construction project is being implemented by the National Housing and Construction Company Ltd @NHCC_UG , with full support from @GovUganda

Accompanied the Chairperson of the @UgandaEC Justice Byabakama Mugenyi Simon to the Police Senior Command and Staff College on Bwebajja Hill in Wakiso, where he spoke to the officers attending a senior command course that they carry a huge responsibility of enforcing law and order in order to have peaceful elections.
He stressed that in undertaking their duties, they should follow the law and treat citizens and political actors humanely and with respect.
He thanked @PoliceUg for the role they continue to play in securing all stages of the electoral processes.
Acts of violence, hate speech, vandalism, and online abuse are strictly prohibited during the election period. Arrests will be made for any violations of the law.
