Officially Norah C Sweeney, PT, DPT, NCS
It’s been a long journey but it’s given me an incredible community including my wonderful co-resident who also passed 😊
Also, if you haven’t noticed, my new credentials are hilarious.
NCS x NCS
NCS squared

I never thought I would change my name when I got married— I was the first (medical) Dr. Newton in my family and I’m very proud of that. But, when presented with the opportunity to say “Hi, I’m Dr. Sleeper and I’ll be your anesthesiologist,” I just couldn’t pass it up!
Resurrecting this. Covid-19 wasn’t endemic last summer and it isn’t endemic now either. Squarely still in pandemic phase. No doubt we will eventually get there, but until then, need to use appropriate public health measures.
@LindsayPNewton Thanks Lindsay! I feel like I'm hearing about a lot of healthcare friends testing positive. I very much appreciate the recommendations :)
So I do have COVID. Please send suggestions on what I should do with my 5-10 days of isolation. Please do not say studying for my NCS boards. It is not a correct answer.
@arpitagopal @Heather_Littier same. I cancelled my registration this week even though I was supposed to present. I'm disappointed but it feels like the right choice.
🧵1/5 Seeking advice.
I was given the great honor of speaking at a big PT conference, @APTAtweets.
I value my PT colleagues & want to support this community💥
However.
APTA isn't requiring vaccines, & it's in TX, which has no mask mandate.
12k people are expected to attend.😳
Ended up cancelling my CSM registration tonight* because of Omicron. I'm sad to give up my first conference presentation, but it feels like the right move for me.
* Last day to cancel #CSM2022 https://t.co/gkbMVDAW5l
Also I may have COVID
Everyone keeps talking about covid becoming endemic, but as I listen to the conversation, it’s becoming more & more clear to me that very few of you know what “endemic” means.
So here’s a thread on how pandemics end.
If we don’t start focusing on the collective instead of the individual, the vulnerable instead of the privileged, and the long-term instead of the short-term, we’re going to continue making bad decisions that prolong this mess.

2020: Can I go running?
2021: My brother is a fully vaxxed Scorpio who only lies and my roommate is an unvaccinated INTJ who only tells the truth; how do we attend a 124-person outdoor wedding across a river with a fox, a chicken, and a sack of grain, and only one mask?
🚨I wrote a big piece about how Delta affects the pandemic endgame.
Many folks are upset & confused by the last month. Here's an attempt to reset expectations, lay out our goals, map the near-term future, & show how the pandemic ends--which it will. 1/

@Rae_Pru So glad to hear conversations like this having happy endings! Thank you for sharing this. Hoping to update this tweet soon with a similar ending.
I recently found out 2 of my family* members have chosen to not get vaccinated.
My family is liberal and as a whole believes in science.
Please check on the people you care about and don’t assume they got vaccinated.
