@GuntherEagleman Glad we see eye to eye. Permanent standard time keeps mornings brighter and matches how our bodies actually work. No more twice-a-year disruption.
Jensen Huang has the most rational and by far the most sensible position on AI
- continue to accelerate
- decentralize and open source AI
- doomers are dead wrong
- 0% chance of AI killing us all
SPOT ON!
They tried to do w/ social media what they are attempting now with AI. To own it all & own us. They used dubious crises: "Russiagate," Covid etc. We barely survived those attempts to grab social media & the 1st Amendment & the proof is I can write about them on X.
Don't let those people capture AI. They may try new crises. Hang tough.
🚨JUST IN🚨
Microsoft has signed a legally enforceable agreement giving Randi Weingarten's far-left teachers union oversight of AI safety and privacy standards in classrooms NATIONWIDE.
A watchdog group sent a letter to @SenTedCruz demanding an investigation into the deal's impact on MILLIONS of American students.
Last year, Senator Cruz forced Microsoft to cut ties with a group caught censoring conservative media for students.
Now it's time for him to hold Microsoft accountable AGAIN.
The future of our country is too important to ignore.

I will gladly take artificial intelligence over the intelligence of all the people freaking out about it.
The people building AI and making tons of money doing it suddenly need government to control them. Cuz you know, the government is so good at stuff like tech. I mean have you ever seen a government website? They’re the best!
Oh and yea, a law by Bernie Sanders, a man who obviously would’ve struggled to use a VCR in 1985, is gonna stop AI.
The kayfabe here is actually boring it’s so obvious. Glad to see so many sane people not taking the bait.
It’s a fear monger op. Don’t fall for it.
@laralogan A "slow down" sounds like regulations. As always, that seems to benefit those at the top. And cyber criminals who will likely not abide by regulations.
This post looks like the start of a VERY sophisticated and well-funded PR operation to get support for Democrats to regulate AI into oblivion. Let me show you how it works:
1.) This guy, with minimal followers and no previous account activity, goes to the Wall Street Journal which publishes an exclusive with quotes from him on his resignation 18 minutes BEFORE this post goes up. Planning was clearly done in advance.
2.) Within hours, it has tens of thousands of reposts and the account has 100k+ followers. The post is punchy, quotable, it almost seems professionally written. The first three accounts to quote tweet it all do so within 15 minutes of the initial posting. Remember, this account had basically zero engagement beforehand, so an organic reach explanation seems unlikely.
According to Grok those accounts are @_NathanCalvin (General Counsel at Encode AI), @peterwildeford (Head of Policy at the AI Policy Network), and @DKokotajlo (Head of the AI Futures Project), all of which are up-and-coming AI-Doomer policy advocacy nonprofits.
The AI Futures Project website says it is funded “primarily” by the Survival and Flourishing Fund, which says on its own website that it has advised Jaan Tallinn, Skype creator and one of the leading investors in Anthropic, to grant over $2.5 million to the AI Futures Project since 2024.
Encode AI says on its website that it is ALSO funded by the Survival and Flourishing Fund, which in turn says that it told Anthropic investor Jaan Tallinn to grant $516,000 to Encode AI in 2025.
And wouldn’t you know it, the Survival and Flourishing Fund ALSO says it told Jaan Tallinn to grant $2 million to the AI Policy Institute, the 501(c)(3) affiliate of the AI Policy Network, as well.
What are the odds that the first three quote tweets of Coxon’s post would all be major AI-restriction policy advocates funded generously by the same donor, who also happens to be one of the leading investors in, and a board member of, Anthropic, the company Coxon was resigning from? And all within 15 minutes of posting (two within ten)?
3.) Jacob Coxon doesn’t have much of a resume, but we do know that, in 2022, he got a $20,159 scholarship for the “long term future scholarship program” from the Good Ventures Foundation, one of the philanthropic vehicles of Dustin Moskovitz, a notorious AI-doomer who has spent tens if not hundreds of millions on policy advocacy to strictly regulate AI, while also being an Anthropic Investor himself.
It also just so happens that the 14th person to quote Coxon’s post was @MaxNadeau_ (27 minutes after posting) who is the program officer for the Technical AI Safety team at Coefficient Giving, another of Moskovitz’s philanthropic spending vehicles. Max is not a frequent poster, his last posts before quoting Coxon were before Labor Day, but he was remarkably quick off the mark for this one.
4.) Basically every major Democrat politician and candidate has suddenly glommed on to this post, and conveniently, as the people cry out foe answers, Bernie Sanders already has a bill written to “ban super intelligence” and regulate AI into oblivion, and will be releasing later this week. The bill, among many other things, will create “a new cabinet-level federal agency to safeguard the public from the dangers of artificial intelligence” that will be “advised by an Artificial Intelligence Advisory Board comprised of experts on artificial intelligence.” Do you think, perhaps, Anthropic and its many investors who fund AI policy advocacy might have interest in getting to place a pet “expert” on the board of an entity that dictates what AI is and isn’t allowed to do? And isn’t it fortuitous that this whistleblower came forward with his oh-so scary stories so close in proximity to the release of the most radical piece of AI legislation ever introduced?
This story is fascinating and is easily one of the most important things happening at the intersection of AI and politics right now. It's critical everyone understands the situation because this is just the beginning of the AI infowars and psyops
Jacob Coxon, a relatively unknown AI researcher, gives the WSJ an exclusive story about his resignation from Anthropic and his concerns about AI
Twenty minutes after the WSJ story drops, Jacob posts on X about how he's concerned that AI could kill us all in a few years. This post now has over 149M views. For reference, Ilya Sutskever (a very well known AI name) left OpenAI in 2024 and his announcement post has fewer than 6M views as of today
Bear in mind, Jacob Coxon's X account had no prior posting activity public, but it is immediately reposted and boosted by numerous AI-doomer policy advocacy nonprofits funded by the same donor (Jaan Tallinn) who just happens to be one of the leading investors in Anthropic
We find out Jacob Coxon, who worked at Anthropic for only a few weeks, worked for a left-wing political advocacy group in 2021 (Newspeak). This organization is a British NGO with ties to hacking democracy, Hillary Clinton, prison abolition and extinction rebellion
Many major Democrat politicians are now using Jacob's X post to fear monger the public into voting to regulate AI. It just so happens Bernie Sanders has a bill already written to ban artificial superintelligence (ASI) and to create a new federal agency to protect the public from the dangers of AI. This bill was announced just one week ago on September 3rd
It would also place a temporary pause on "advanced AI" until a new federal regulator exists and has issued safety rules and a model-review process
Elon then points out how none of this feels organic, and Jacob decides to take a shot at him for firing some xAI researchers
Meanwhile, we know Anthropic has publicly asked the government to audit and block frontier models and Anthropic has run a state-by-state campaign for rules that only large AI labs trigger, meaning the rules are structured around barriers only frontier labs can easily clear (limiting competition)
There is extensive Anthropic personnel and financial overlap with the groups that wrote the Biden-era AI policies. It is well known information you can seek out if you want the detail
This all seemingly comes back to regulatory capture and political motives. None of this feels natural. Jacob can say these are his real views all he wants, and they may be, but there is clearly far more to the story
It feels like I am the last female that has zero, and I mean zero sympathy for Lindsay Clancy. May she rot in hell. Please tell me there is someone else?
What do you think, should we make Daylight Saving Time permanent year-round, or Standard Time?
This map shows what winter sunrise would look like in your area if DST is observed year-round.
The Sunshine Protection Act would make Daylight Saving Time permanent with states able to opt out. The Act is expected to get a full House vote soon.

Certain Foods May Help Lower Blood Pressure More Effectively Than Medication.
1. Beetroot juice - can lower systolic pressure by 8-10 points within 3 hours.
2. Garlic's allicin relaxes arteries as effectively as some prescription medications.
3. Bananas' potassium counteracts sodium within the same meal.
4. Dark chocolate with 85% or higher cocoa content's flavanols dilate blood vessels measurably.
5. Spinach's magnesium deficiency is a hidden cause of high blood pressure in a significant portion of Americans.
6. Drinking 3 cups of hibiscus tea per day has lowered blood pressure more effectively than most initial treatments in clinical trials.
7. Walnuts simultaneously lower LDL cholesterol and blood pressure.
While medication manages numbers, these foods address the underlying issue.
I’m a dermatologist. I’m supposed to say there is no amount of safe sun exposure.
But I won’t, because that’s a lie.
The attached shows how much sun is safe in different cities at different times of year.
What do I mean by ‘safe’?
I mean this: UV causes DNA damage and skin cancer.
But, shockingly, your body repairs that damage. As long as the damage doesn’t outpace repair and start accumulating it shouldn't increase your risk of skin cancer.
Data just came out that tells us how much UV you can get without damage accumulating.
They took the people most susceptible to DNA damage from UV and exposed them to UV, then did skin biopsies to measure the damage, then more skin biopsies to measure the repair, and repeated it daily for 4 days.
At 1.6 ‘Standard Erythemal Dose’ (SED) there was no accumulation of damage.
So, the attached charts show how much sun it takes to get 1 SED in different cities at different times of the year at different times of day.
And there are extra safety margins built in. It assumes a perfectly clear day with zero air pollution and that the sun is hitting your skin perpendicularly. Unless you’re laying flat, most sun is hitting you at an angle, which isn’t nearly as intense.
But a bigger question you might be asking is ‘Why would a dermatologist be telling you to get sun in the first place?’
Because getting sun reduces your risk of death.
Mostly by reducing your risk of heart attacks and strokes. That is very well proven.
But it’s also very likely that sun exposure reduces your risk of autoimmune disease, dementia, cancer and depression. It’s just not as well proven as the protection against heart attacks and strokes.
And before you reply and say ‘just take vitamin D!’, know that it has been ROBUSTLY proven that vitamin D has little (if any) benefit for preventing any of the above. Vitamin D is mostly useful as a marker of if you’re getting enough sun.
What do I do myself and what do I tell my patients?
Get as much unprotected sun exposure as you can without getting a burn.
That’s my GUESS as to what has the best risk/benefit ratio. Dying of skin cancer is actually really rare, especially when compared to the risk of heart attacks, strokes, autoimmune disease, dementia and other cancers.
But I’ll admit it’s not for sure best to get as much sun as possible, since sun does increase the risk of skin cancer and it might be the case the benefits plateau at a low level.
So, if you’re really worried about skin cancer stick to the charts.
The best science I can find says that amount won’t cause skin cancer.
The takeaway?
Sun is good for you, just don’t get a burn.
They have it backwards! High BP is a symptom, not a cause of arterial damage. Did you know:
•There's no evidence aggressively lowering BP saves lives
•BP meds have a lot of side effects—including death Here I share all the hidden data on blood pressure.
