With all the good work and international stature that benefits Africa positively and contribution to football, Sadio Mané @SMane_Officiel only has 508k followers on X on a continent with multi million X users.

Sadio Mané builds hospitals, schools and stadiums in Africa with his personal money where other footballers show off sports cars, mansions and women, yet as Africans we are following gossip mongers in millions and not Sadio Mané.

This speaks more about our internal collective mindset as a people on this continent.

Social media influencers who share pictures of half naked women have more followers than a man who builds schools, hospitals and stadiums and sends African children to school with his own money.

Today he gets legally married to his beautiful girlfriend, and that is the moment that sparks chatter about him, player-hating him with lies instead of focusing on the great works he does.

Many Africans need collective mindset help, we need to understand that we are poor today because of that gene that makes us run after nonsense and not serious issues in life.

It is very unfortunate that African social media collectively highlights sensational content rather than positive contributions by people like Sadio Mané's.
If we shifted our focus to individuals who are making a meaningful impact to Africa’s development like Sadio Mané, this would help reshape societal collective values, priorities and mindset.

The public recognition of positive influences is essential in promoting a more balanced and progressive African narrative.

We complain that Western media misrepresents us, but here we are following pornography and gossip in millions instead of nation builders like Sadio Mané.

The only moment we turn to Sadio Mané is when there are false and negative narratives about his marriage, more like to taint a good man with falsehoods!

Recognising and celebrating those who make meaningful contributions can contribute to reshaping values and priorities in a positive direction, let us do that if we want a better Africa.

We have scientists, inventors, writers, scholars, philanthropists and more who we should be following and learning from instead of getting excited daily by cheap and useless stories rooted in gossip, envy and jealousy.
