The D-Day is here. 💃🚀

As we convene today, evidence from the REAL Fathers initiative points to strengthened young father–spouse relationships, including reductions in intimate partner violence (IPV), improved communication and teamwork, and increased emotional and financial support within families 🤝🏡.

We are also seeing enhanced father–child relationships and early childhood development (ECD), with young fathers actively engaging in bonding, stimulation, responsive caregiving, and early learning through play 🧸👶🏾.

There are clear shifts in young fathers’ perceived roles and status within their communities, marked by increased involvement in childcare, shared household responsibilities, and participation in community groups — contributing to more equitable and supportive family environments ⚖️🌍.

At a broader level, REAL Fathers is driving the transformation of community systems and structures, influencing social norms, strengthening support networks, and reinforcing positive, gender-equitable fatherhood practices for sustained impact 🌱✨.

What happens when government steps into your workspace - not with orders, but with listening?

That’s the scene at @WACSOF yesterday, when Mr Chris Magezi, Assistant Commissioner - Strategic Coordination, Governance and Justice in the Office of the Prime Minister, dropped by our Secretariat.

This wasn’t a ribbon-cutting. It was a technical support visit, a moment to align, sharpen and ensure that the voice of Responsible Engaged And Loving (REAL) Fathers and civil society holds weight where decisions are made.

His message was clear: partnerships between government and local organisations aren’t optional. They’re the difference between policies that sit on paper and change that lives in communities.

For WACSOF, it was more than a visit. It was a reminder that the work of parenting, and governance isn’t distant, it’s in conversations, collaborations, and commitments forged right where people are.

📌In every election, voter and civic education are necessary to ensure that all constituents; men and women alike understand their rights, their political system, the contests they are being asked to decide, and how and where to vote.

For an election to be successful and democratic, voters must understand their rights and responsibilities, and must be sufficiently knowledgeable and well informed to cast ballots that are valid and to participate meaningfully in the voting process.

@moses_mulindwa urges all Ugandans to take keen interest and participate in electoral processes. Political and public participation is crucial to democratic governance, the rule of law, social inclusion and economic development, and the advancement of all human rights.

A very productive engagement on the #LEDPolicy yesterday in Bushenyi, hosted by our partner @wacsof and Bushenyi District LG @MoLGUganda

Here are some of the action points:

✅️ LED Committee expedites the profiling of all potential investment opportunities and submit to District Council for endorsement.
✅️ Continuous awareness creation on the potential of #LEDPolicy for the various stakeholders to appreciate their obligations.
✅️ There was a call to embrace the Harambee ( #Giving4Devt ) spirit, learning from successful initiatives like Buturo People's SACCO.
✅️The District Leadership unanimously committed to walk-the-talk on the implementation of #LEDPolicy
✅️ Success of LED rests on leaders' accountability and transparency practices.
✅️ District leaders need to continuously create an enabling environment for businesses to thrive as this encourages local investors to emerge.
