The bar to be considered a Texan for the purposes of UT enrollment is having residency for 12 months prior to enrolling. So if you sign a $1500/month lease a year in advance and move-in, you’re a “Texan”. Doesn’t matter if you paid any taxes.

HBCUs exist for the advancement of Blacks. I think that’s a perfectly reasonable charter.

The UT Austin admission system isn’t meritocratic, you said it in your post: only 10% of the student body can be non-Texan.

Within the UT charter, it explicitly says the institution exists explicitly for the advancement of Texans.

So, you don’t take issue with the institution expressing a preference for certain groups over others. You take issue with the idea that it should express a preference for whites.

A college diploma only hurts you in technical sales & software development. I’ve made $ in this business and I don’t have a highschool diploma.

You definitely don’t need for finance. Accounting is just a CPA.

If the law doesn’t require it you’re usually better off just going into the field instead of preparing to go into it.
