Jensen Huang hand-delivered a $129,000 supercomputer to a 40-person nonprofit in 2016.

The nonprofit was OpenAI. Elon Musk opened the box himself.

The DGX-1. 170 teraflops. The size of a suitcase. Jensen signed the case with a Sharpie: "To the future of computing and humanity."

That machine trained the research that became ChatGPT.

9 years later he did it again.

Starbase, Texas. October 2025. Jensen walked past a Starship booster and handed Musk a machine the size of a hardcover book.

DGX Spark. 1 petaflop. 128 GB of unified memory. Runs 200-billion-parameter models. Weighs 2.6 pounds.

Price: $3,999.

Do the math. The 2016 machine cost $759 per teraflop. The Spark costs $4. Same handshake, 190x cheaper.

Now the desk supercomputer sits next to keyboards in student apartments. A kid fine-tuning a 70B model at 2 AM has more AI compute than OpenAI's entire lab had in 2016.

And Jensen still works the floor like a rockstar. At CES, crowds hand him RTX cards to sign like vinyl records. Same leather jacket. Same Sharpie.

The first machine he signed built ChatGPT.

Nobody knows what the $3,999 ones will build.
