@Sassafrass_84 Once upon a time, there was a western style secular democracy. Then it was overthrown by the CIA for the crime of rationalizing it's oil industry. A brutal dictator was installed, and that dictator was overthrown in 1979. That nation is Iran. Just thought you should know.
