If this is one person's experience seeking Christ and they feel this way, we should cover our faces as believers in Jesus.

Jesus never segregated.
Jesus never did classism.
If the message of Christ requires rules before hearing it, the goal is lost before reaching them.

My first terrible Sunday experience in Lagos was at House on the Rock in Lekki.

Their security stopped me at the entrance of the church, not the main gate because I had pure water sachet in my handbag.

I was told I couldn’t enter the house of my father with my pure water. Only bottled water or water in a flask was allowed.

So I asked, “What if this is all I can afford?”

The security officer replied that he didn’t make the rules. And I had to drop it with him.

I then asked what would happen if I got thirsty inside. He had no answer. He just stood in a way that made it clear, if I didn’t drop the water, I wasn’t going anywhere.

He even added that I should have transferred the water into a container before coming to church.

He also insisted on searching my bag. When I asked why, he said he had to search everybody’s bag. Yet, as he said that, other people were walking in without their bags being searched....so why stop me????

The only reason I was there was to honour an invitation from a friend. We actually came in together...
I already had my reservations about a few things, but my friend kept saying I shouldn’t believe everything I see online. So I came with an open mind to experience things for myself...

When the incident happened, I honestly wanted to walk out immediately. But my friend pleaded with me, so I handed over my pure water and went inside.

The whole thing felt humiliating and unnecessary.

We eventually had to step out during service to buy bottled water because I was actually thirsty.

From start to finish, I was fuming internally, except when I took pictures of my outfit at the end...plus when I got to say hi to Precious in the choir.

My friend jokingly suggested we try again and I never did .

Top 5 of my crazy experience in Lagos last year....to think that I dressed up really nice and left the mainland to Lekki only to experience that....

@Olami_deeEbony Yours seems better. I got an @AirtelNigeria line, December 2020. I started getting calls from Branch and some other loan apps about pending loans to pay up for loans I didn't collect.

This is asides the regular debit alerts from banks.
