PASTEF–Les Patriotes, the ruling political movement that swept #Senegal’s President Bassirou Diomaye #Faye to power in 2024, has unanimously reelected Ousmane #Sonko as its president during an ongoing party Congress in Dakar.
The party describes the vote as a renewal of its “unshakable confidence” in the former Prime Minister, now president of Senegal’s National Assembly.
The party has also announced that about 60 political parties and citizen movements have joined its ranks under a newly signed merger charter.
The Congress comes amid growing questions about President Faye’s future within the party, even though he continues to govern independently.
The two leaders fell out over Senegal’s public debt crisis and negotiations with the International Monetary Fund, a dispute that led President Faye to dismiss Sonko as prime minister and dissolve the previous government.
This historic fracture leaves Senegal in a state of political gridlock, where the country's dominant party, PASTEF, controls the legislature but is completely separated from the newly formed government.

They should stop being lazy.
Go to South America and look for the next Alvarez or go to France and get another Kroupi.
If you want a ready-made material, then pay up.
Julian Alvarez reportedly does not want to move to Arsenal. Bournemouth wants £100m for Kroupi which I doubt Arsenal will want to pay.
Which striker do you think we should go for if we can't get Julian Alvarez or Kroupi.
@Hmida1990@Arsenal_FRA I almost added England to my tweet earlier.
Yeah, England has a very good talent pool, too.
They have won some age-grade competitions in the last few years.

You are right.
I had a classmate in Uni.
He topped his class in pre-degree and was poised for MBBS.
New govt came in and canceled MBBS program.
He was given biochemistry instead.
He stopped studying altogether and focused on activism.
He finished with a poorer grade than 2:2.
My elder sister graduated with a 2.2 in Computer Science and she is highly intelligent, worked for Shell and was outstanding on her job.
My classmate, Dolapo Oni is super intelligent but made a 2.2. I made a 2.1 but I am not as intelligent as he is in my opinion.
People make 2.2 for different reasons, some were clubbing/grooving and were not studying, some were into fellowship leadership like NIFES and were busy doing night meetings in fellowship and not reading. Some were deeply involved in C activities and not reading.

Mr Czar, perhaps you lack honesty, or it's history you lack, in any case, I can help you out.
When Gowon suspected that Ojukwu might attempt to succeed, he broke the Eastern region into 3, a few days before the war started. He broke it down to;
- Eastern Region
- Rivers State
- South-Eastern State (Cross River State).
The name South South itself didn't appear until then 90s. But in term of the creation, it was led by sons of the soil, who still held grudges against the Igbos and never want to be under the control of igbos again. For fact checking poupose, popular names amongst them are Ken Saro Wiwa, Dappa-Biriye, Isaac Boro, Eyo Ita and many more. The advocacy started as far back as 1966.
Lovers of history know the name Isaac Adaka Boro. In 1966 he organized the Niger Delta Volunteer Force, an armed group demanding fairer distribution of oil wealth. His declaration of the Niger Delta Republic on February 23, 1966, led to a twelve-day uprising before his defeat and imprisonment for treason.
Stop attempting to create problem or at least learn your history.
