U.S. intel claims Iran has started dropping naval mines into the Strait of Hormuz because apparently missiles, drones, and regional chaos werenโt enough drama for 2026.
Only a few dozen mines are confirmed so farโฆ but thatโs the appetizer.
Analysts say Iran has thousands more ready to go, enough to turn the strait into a long-term maritime death maze.
Clearing it could take months, and thatโs if no oneโs shooting during the process.

๐ Chinaโs green transition model features in the UNโs landmark global environment report.
The 7th Global Environment Outlook (GEO-7), titled โA Future We Chooseโ, was released by the #UN Environment Programme at UNEA-7. As a flagship science-policy assessment, it addresses four intertwined crises: climate change, pollution, biodiversity loss, and land degradation, and calls for systemic transformations in energy, food, materials, and finance.
Prof. Hu Min and Prof. Dai Hancheng (College of Environmental Sciences and Engineering, PKU) contributed as Coordinating Lead Authors. PKUโs IMED integrated model was selected as a core modeling tool for GEO-7, and Chinaโs carbon neutrality transition pathway, based on IMED, was featured as a global case study showcasing multi-dimensional co-benefits in air quality, public health, water use, and food security.
