It's a good year for the Coyotes! (Wile E. included)
I LOVED the designs for the Coyote army in #Wildwood, looking like 1800s royal guards. Red coats with gold trims, top hats and tall boots.
Dmitri was actually so cute.
Alexandra from Wildwood may be one of the best villains we've had in the 2020s.
This is a complex, tragic villain that nevertheless reminds the audience that she is a VILLAIN.
She is not some misunderstood person that needs love, nor is she a political strawman allegory.
I saw Wildwood for the second time today and I literally cannot emphasize enough how the sheer effort the animators put into making everything look absolutely perfect is IMMENSE. So much love, blood, sweat, and tears went into this movie and it's perfect. AI COULD NEVER
16 yrs in development… the behind of scenes on how wildwood was made is CRAZY! so how much hard work and dedication that ai could never recreate. im in actual tears.
LAIKA's ‘WILDWOOD’ has the largest battle sequence ever for a stop-motion film.
• Spans 12 minutes with over 400 shots
• Contains approx 3,000 characters
• 5 distinct sets were made — all combined were larger than the length of a building
• One person was specifically hired to track scarring & scratching on the lead character throughout the battle to ensure maximum detail

It’s actually crazy how much WILDWOOD is not a “kids movie.” Laika does Lord of the Rings, but somehow even more violent and more beautiful. Give this movie every Oscar it can possibly qualify for and then some
Wildwood is the ultimate message to the entire world that handcrafted and human made art will always be above everything trying to shut it down and process it through prompts that make the world a worse place.
Make this movie blow up for the love of animation as a whole.
yall don’t actually want original movies if you won’t go see Wildwood.
> director is adamantly anti AI
> the entire film was handcrafted puppets and environments
> some of the best action of the year right up there with The Odyssey
> made me cry twice in the theater
The stop-motion animation work behind LAIKA’s WILDWOOD (2026) is absolutely insane.
136 handcrafted sets, over 200 practical puppets and 49 animators working across 231 weeks, with some shots producing just 1–4 seconds of animation per week.
