@willmenaker NYC 100% has both hicks and townies. I moved to NYC from Vermont in my 20s and have worked service in both. Hicks rant and rave about new people and businesses. Townies patronize them while being wildly entitled and rude to workers. Same shit in a resort town as in South Brooklyn
I will never be a New Yorker despite my near 15 year tenure because I refuse to cede my Vermonter identity (why would I?) but I know one thing about this city: people from New a Jersey who moved to New York in their 20s go harder for New York teams than anyone.
