The AI hype cycle is already repeating itself lol
Anthropic’s CEO builds Fable and Mythos to “save humanity”… Then the US government immediately shuts them down for “national security,” while conveniently letting GPT-5.6 through for their favorite partners only.
Give it a few months and we’ll hear the classic “I have blood on my hands” Oppenheimer moment.
Is this actual protection or just regulatory capture?
@0xSero Amazing! I did something kind of not similar, but something to help me configure models ( llama-swap +llama.cpp), and the feel and look of yours seems pretty good!
To be clear, I understand the legal argument if someone violated ToS or used fake accounts.
But the moral outrage feels strange when the entire industry was built on top of everyone else’s work.
Am I wrong here?
I think it’s funny seeing Anthropic complain that Chinese companies are training models using their accounts.
Let’s be real. Every model was trained on public data, and probably a lot of not so public data too. All of this came from the knowledge, code, research, writing, and work of people from all over the world.
Imagine if every researcher started suing people for continuing their work or improving on top of it.
To me this moral argument doesn’t make much sense. It feels way more like they are just trying to protect their competitive advantage.
@loktar00 To be honest, I’m working on stuff that’s kind of hard to use AI for, like coding within a platform (flow system) for a chatbot. Not well designed tho.
